Pachter actually PLAYS games? Seriously, considering how 90% of N4G could come up with better analyses and predictions than him, I am surprised that he has ever even touched a gaming system.

...Then why the hell do these politicians have no issues with 90% of today's action and horror films? It's all hypocritical bullsh*t, driven by ignorance and money.
When you compare the average video game to the average movie (hell, or even some books), suddenly games don't seem so violent/outrageous anymore.
...A few months ago I was talking about how lucky 360 owners were to get this and how I would kill to be able to play this.... Yeah, that was a few months ago. I couldn't care less about GTA 4 anymore, there are too many other games to remain occupied with.
Sorry Rockstar, if you hadn't been riding the money c*ck, you would have made an extra sale. I'm sure this same situation goes for many other gamers as well.
My launch PS2 is still running like the day I bought it, as is my launch 60GB PS3 and 2 Sony televisions.
All is well in Sony land, for me at least.
A kill switch though? Just the thought of somebody believing that makes me laugh.
...Too bad this patch should be unnecessary in the first place. Response be damned, each patch only certifies the broken mess that Infinity Ward has made.
No excuse for refusing to beta test the game.
No excuse for the multitudes of bugs and glitches.
No excuse for the lackluster matchmaking.
No excuse for not immediately resolving these issues.
And certainly, no excuse for the terrible community support.
It's like they've totally dropped support for the game and are just rolling in money. They are screwing over there own consumers. Pay $60 to work for hours to get to a decent rank only to have it all ruined...
Out of the frying pan and into the fire. Brilliant.
-.-

Well we just work in different ways then. :D
Having something physically there is just much more engaging for me. And space may be taken up, but if to me it is a good use of space, then that's all that matters.
He links to a much much much more comprehensive video. It's a long watch, but it was worth it.
Edit: Here, just in case:

...People say that the only way to be successful is to camp, but it really isn't.
Unless you're a sniper, get out of your little hiding spots, move around, and play tactically! MW2 would be soooooooo much more fun (and less frustrating, and more balanced) if everybody put a single ounce of thought into their movements, but I guess it's too hard for them so they just sit and wait. Games shouldn't be about maintaining a 1,000,000 - 1 K/D ratio, they should be about having an enjoya...
Except that your emulator is worthless, doesn't make for a good collection, and holds no sentimental value.
I don't get people who want to move everything from physical to virtual. What's the point in having a collection of old games/consoles if you can't look at or touch them? A LARGE part of having such a collection is being able to admire the physical looks, the art, the quality of the build, etc. etc. etc. Having a collection (and if you care enough to keep nostalgic consoles...
EA should feel stupid now when they claimed that the only way to make money was through derivative, uninspired sequels a la Modern Warfare 2 and Madden.
Well right here is proof that a game doesn't have to be dumbed down for the masses to achieve the sales of the masses. EA and Activision and many other companies need to look at what Ubisoft is doing with Assassin's Creed... Everyone would benefit.
Well anyways, this is for sure one of my top games of this year. The ...
Well... there we go guys... Porsche is 100% confirmed to be out. :(
Pshh, who am I kidding. Still got RUF and another 950 cars to play around with. It's all good. :D
...But I really don't care. For me, all this waiting has driven the excitement meter off the charts. I can't remember being this excited about something related to gaming since I anticipated the purchase of my PS3.
And I don't see the point in whining about release dates, when in the end those who truly care about the game will be playing it for FAR longer than what we waited for. But I suppose that doesn't matter to some people who are used to blowing $60 every couple of years o...
...With a well thought out, researched, and true argument. What drives me insane are the people who tell you "your console sucks" and "buy this buy this," and when I ask them why they don't have a single good reason.
Trolls like that only further cement in my mind that the competition is an utter travesty. If you have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for something positive, something is DEFINITELY wrong.
But on the issue of my own platform bias:...
...With the Simpsons Hit + Run. It was actually a pretty decent game, if I recall. Not entirely open world, but it was basically a semi-open world GTA with a Simpsons theme and no gore (duh haha).
Good times.
Uhhh... Black Friday is right after Thanksgiving... in November. And these numbers are for December only so yeah, 1.7 million for the month.
I actually really like the art of Tropico 3, along with Guitar Hero 5 (although that's more than can be said of the actual game, haha).
Casual or not, you can't deny the impact that the series has had on gaming. Plus the original Sims (or even better, The Sims 1 and it's 7 expansions as a whole) is really one of the most timeless games out there. I still regularly pop in The Sims: Complete Collection when I'm feeling a bit bored.
Too bad the series is really starting to slow down. I hope it is allowed to eventually die a noble death and doesn't become the next Need for Speed. :(
