A really really good stress test to accurately test both systems would be Disney Infinity. Because it is on both systems and sandbox mode allows you to build identical setups and overload it with enemies and characters. My son does this with his PS4 and it will go until it crashes the system. You could build both environments equally and start adding enemies one at a time to both systems and comparing framerates. Both systems are horribly underpowered IMO so testing this is like trying to see...
Destiny has a pretty long campaign. I hit level 40 last night and havent even finished any expansions. I havent grinded once. And you dont need coop in a MMORPG. Everywhere you go are others playing. Find a group of guys in the game, play with them, say hi (by dancing lol) and team up a fireteam.
Destiny is more of a RPG than a shooter. They also redesigned the leveling. You now level up to max level. Light level is just now an indication on difficulty. Raids and harder missions require stronger gear. Makes perfect sense. But what I like about Destiny is its open online world that is ever expanding. While I am soloing, I run into others doing the same thing. Since I am 32 with a family, I dont have the luxary of having tons of gamer friends. So the social aspect is very very fun. I ju...
I have a PS4 and I found when I play Destiny, to compare weapons and gear you hold R2. When I hold R2, my left analog stick drifts to the left. Im not sure if its both gamepads, the game, or a combination but R2 will make it drift. I havent tried any other combinations but it isnt just Xbox. My PS4 is less than 6 months old. I also have a 9yr old that beats it up too.
Everyone on N4G already has 1 newer gen console. So to answer your question, just buy whatever system you don't have. If you are a late bloomer and new to this gen, buy whatever console your friends play on most. I didnt like the PS3 last gen and enjoyed my 360 because all my friends played Xbox. This year I am enjoying the PS4 and skipped the Xbox One. If you dont know which one you want, then you shouldn't even buy one because you obviously put 0 thought in it.
Why would anyone be envious of a custom painted controller? Just make one yourself. I doubt that controller will ever play FF7 on a console. I like the idea behind the project but thats like putting a sony sticker on your xbox.
I cant find the value at any price. It lacks content and what little games are on there are expensive. It sounds good on paper but in reality the number of compatible titles is severely limited.
All games should do this. If you enjoy a game enough to struggle through and unlock every trophy, you should get rewarded.
There is no way a cartidge is cheaper than a disc. Discs are super cheap to make. While I lile downloadable games that prevents me from changing discs all the time, being forced to buy the same game over and over again is stupid.
Agreed but thats why we are not rich. Business is Business. And like said in the article, most of the knockoffs are actually decent for the price. Aside from aesthetics, it is basically an android platformer in a ps4-like shell. I doubt it will even be the same size. Probably a cute mini PS4. If it runs android and has native gamepad support, it might be a solid emulator box. Looks arent everything.
RRoD was just a heatsink issue. I fixed a ton of them for friends. The only issue was the fact it took them so long to fix the issue. It wasnt until the Slim model came out that had the newer heatsink. But big deal.
My PS4 is very finicky. It has issues waking up from Rest Mode sometimes. Other times It will refuse to play a disc. Other times it will refuse to log in to my PSN (although it says logged in, games fail to load). I have to pull power each time. Pretty frustrating...
The real question is, who cares? Hardcore gamers will have both consoles. Even last gen the difference was not noticeable. Both are great consoles. Who cares which one sells a tad bit more. Lots of those sales are guys who have one and buy the other. Pick the console your friends have and has the games you want. All good games will be on both with a few exceptions.
The better question is when can we finally play ps vs xbox in the same game? I think restricting gamers to only...
The already have those consoles that accept n64, snes, genesis, nes, etc. Although I personally dislike physical copies these days. I would rather have a system that accepts a medium, backs it up, and plays locally. The Ouya actually is the best retro gamer box I have found to date. Supports 4 PS controllers natively and works fantastic.
Well I bought a PS3 Slim after my 360 Red Ringed... and while my slim didn't come with OtherOS... I actually didn't even realize the Slim removed this until now.
It really sucks because I bought the PS3 with OtherOS in mind because I am an avid Linux fan... and to play games of course.
The Removal doesn't affect me much because I never used OtherOS and I'm finding that my Slim never supported it anyway... but it should. If Sony is worried about piracy then just patch...
a.k.a The shocker and the Spocker
Don't tell me that this is the first actual DSi game.
EDIT: NM looks like it's just a DSiWare game from the Video. This and the linked article make it read like its an actual game.
There are no such things as a cruddy HDMI cable. It either works or it doesn't (all or none). The signal is sent digitally in HDMI verse analog which older standards use. So you gain nothing buy spending more for the cable. Anything more then $3.50 for an HDMI cable is simply throwing your money away.
As far as the Elite goes... at one time you had to choose between a 20gb Pro or a 120gb Elite. Both were the same with the exception of the HDD, HDMI, and color.
Now t...
I already have a 360, so I would go for the alternative and buy a PS3...
But if my 360 broke I would rather have a 360 as my sole big console. I have a lot of friends (I'm 26 btw) and run a popular gaming website and I find that not many people own PS3's. Almost everyone I know games on a 360 and PC.
I have to say that aside from the 360, I recently bought a DSi (first portable console since Gameboy Advanced) and it is really super fun. My DSi gets more love then my...
Who pays for WiFi and $50 for XBL? True gamers require the low latency gains of using a wired network connection. If you require WiFi play a Wii. Be smart and use a cabled connection.
And XBL is like $25~$30 at Walmart.
That plus my Elite came with 2 games in the bundle with a headset, HDMI cable, Wireless controller, Ethernet cable, and more. I paid $480 which included Halo 3 and a 13month XBL subscription. That isn't bad. 360 Elite, 3 games, XBL...

While you are correct about this, devices have regulators to prevent this. Typically a USB is 500mAh. Fast chargers work by communicating over the data pairs and only push higher amps IF the device responds. What I suspect is the cable was bad, shorting out the data pairs. So it created a sort of loopback to the charger to push more. In this case, I doubt it was the controllers fault, but the cable, and would have blown up any device requiring a smaller input of power. The controller was not ...
