I just finished the first disc. And Lost Odyssey is a sweet game. I'm a HUGE Final Fantasy fan... and aside from the name, you would never know the difference. I've played just about every Final Fantasy game and Lost Odyssey is better then most.
I don't think it'll beat FF7, but nothing prolly will IMO. I can tell you that Lost Odyssey is better then FF8, FF10, and FF12.
I played it for 2 hours while my son napped, and its all I've been thinking about today. I went online to a few sites and seen one of the characters, Sed, the one who takes care of the aircraft I'm guessing. I'm guessing Sed replaced Sid, lol.
You can really feel the Final Fantasy relation in the game. I was really impressed with the ring system, that keeps the combat system fresh. You just can't hit a button over and over to accomplish the same tasks.

You can't really do anything on it directly... but you can run apps and such through the browser.

Ubuntu Linux is awesome, if you can fully use it. At first install it seems basic (it is). Ubuntu includes the basics you need to do simple tasks. For anything noteworthy you'd have to go to the Add/Remove programs and install new programs.
Are you guys able to install and expand this install, or is it a "custom" version that is limited to just the initial install?

There are lots of games ported from other consoles. I don't see what the big deal is.
I hope to see this on XBL but if all else fails, just release it on all the platforms. Rare would make tons of money plus the consoles would too. I can also seeing a lot of people upgrading to this gens consoles in this case as well (PS2, Gamecube, dreamcast)

I said it before and I'll say it again; If ranking FF games, I would place Lost Odyssey directly in the middle of FF7 and FF12. I've played just about every main stream FF game out there and I enjoy them a lot. FF7 is my all-time favorite game and that will probably never change.
Lost Odyssey is a Final Fantasy game at heart and you can definatly see that when playing it.
