Its not even an Sony product. Its a korean knockoff that runs emulators. It just has "PSP" on the back. Lame.
The lack of HDD on some sku's are holding back content, I agree.
I think MS should release a HUGE hit release game that requires a harddrive and have an optional bundle with the game for cheap... or buy a 120gb HDD accessory and get the game included.
Just like Final Fantasy did with the PS2.
Pick a game that EVERYONE will want (like GTA4 but they missed that one) and setup a pretty good deal to get people to get in it. They also need it lowered. I don't...
WiiWare will be awesome. I'm still leaning toward a harddrive accessory for storage.
I own a Wii and find the controls "fun" for a while but not for hardcore gaming like on the 360... but you are absolutely right. I have always been against motion controls on the xbox but you list some very good points I haven't considered.
Lots of developers could make use of the power of the xbox all the while using the current motion sensing controls much like the Wiimote. Also games like Starcraft 2 and Halo Wars would really benefit from a "mouse-like" co...
I just think it's funny that they always compare weekly PS3 sales to weekly 360 sales like apples to apples, when its not. The Xbox 360 already has SO many units out there that just sales are going to be lower then a fresh console that hardly no one owns.
The reason I bought an xbox 360 was because of the enormous game selection, backward compatibility, and that everyone and their brother had one.
The number of PS3 owners is less then 360 owners so of course 360 sale...
The game is sweet. Sure Lost Odyssey has the fewest random enemy encounter rate... but they set it up that way. The enemies are fewer and farther apart but they kick your as_.
Also the way you level up keeps you in check for the levels your on. It makes the game play smooth and challenging. The boss battles are usually long and hard.
This DLC has been talked about for some time now and the item is the 0 MP skill which takes 999 SP to learn, which most skills are 8-2...
I've got like 30 hours in Lost Odyssey and only on the beginning of the second disc. So far I'm completely immersed. Lost Odyssey reminds me of Final Fantasy 7 in a lot of ways (with the memory loss and style).
It definatly is the hardest RPG I have ever played and really takes a lot of planning. Even a walkthrough telling you the weaknesses of bosses doesn't cut it.
I haven't heard of this game, but it looks good. I gotta finish Lost Odyssey before I invest anymore ...
That is exactly what they want. They don't want you to lend out your games or movies. If someone wants to watch it... they want them to go rent it or go buy it.
That really is a downfall for convenience. But there are lots of ups. No media to break, lose, or scratch up. It saves you trips to the store to buy new games/movies/media.
As for a Blueray drive for the 360... ehhh. Microsoft is pushing hard for direct downloads and can already get the latest movies on deman...
Mandatory Installations aren't a mystery. They're required because the games are on 50gb Blueray discs. The drives are slow. They don't make drives that can read through 50gb instantly just to find a bitmap.
Thats one flaw of the Blueray drives... just not good for archiving data. It's nothing against the technology, but just the drives are slow.
Developers have come to grips with reality and have learned to deal with it, and mandatory installations of reoccuring te...
Link reminded me of Michael Jackson.
I dunno about this. Movies based off games never do good. If anything I would be more obliged to see if it was computer animated like Final Fantasy and Beowulf.
There were a couple of neat scenes, like where Zelda is in front of the window and all you see is her silhouette; and the one where link is jumping at a sandworm with his protruding sword.
The costume looked like cheap fabric sewn together and looked horribl...
p2p is vastly superior. Dedicated servers can get shut down after a few years and get bogged down.
With p2p, you'll always be able to find someone to play with no matter what.
I completely agree. PS3 owners "don't care" about extra features that we've grown to be used to.
It's only when you've used them, gotten used to them, and then had them taken away.
Its like special ordering a car and given the High Performance car as a loaner until yours comes in. You get used to all the bells and whistles that your stock car doesn't have... then you know.
Like the old saying, "You don't miss what you never had".
Thats not always the case. At first glance maybe. Looking at 2 energy drinks... one is $1 and the other is $5. You may THINK the $5 is better because of price but you can only truly know until you try both of them.
In the case of Live vs PSN, Live wins.
See p2p gaming is the way to go. Sony Fanboys always try to spin it by saying games having "Dedicated Servers" are the way to go. This is completely false in everyway. What happens in a few years when the game loses popularity and they take down the servers for a new game?
What happens then? You see this all the time and not just with the PS3 but also with the Wii. Metal of Honor: Heroes 2 doesn't have multiplayer in Australlia because they didn't want to pay for serve...
I think the iPhone is neat. Several of my friends have them. But they just don't have what it takes to be a good phone. I mean it lacks so many things that people come to expect out of a phone.
I mean almost every phone made within the last 4 years has had a web browser of some sorts. They release the iPhone and "internet on your phone!!!" is such a big deal. pfft.
The lack of MMS and 3G really pushed me away. That plus there is no 3rd party support for ext...
MK3 was my favorite. It had some disappointments and Sub-Zero died? and his brother was the new "Sub-Zero" or whatever? Lame.
I haven't played a MK game in ages, particularly because after MK3, it lost its luster. The 3D fighting kinda sucked and in trade for 3D graphics they gave up moves and such. I remember MK3, each character had a bunch of moves.
I think with todays technology, they should make their characters have lots of quick easy moves, a mix of...
I doubt it. They didn't include built in support for HD-DVD. What makes BR any more special? The lack of a built in drive of a different standard breaks compatibility. Developers won't want to make 2 different versions of games, or only make a game that a small portion of users can play.
Having a BR-Drive add-on is the most we'll see out of the 360. Maybe the next gen console will have it built in, but knowing MS... they'll prolly try to have some other crazy format built in.
@scottie
How is the 360 trying to keep up with the PS3? The 360 has all that:
Swappable HDD's, USB ports, GREAT! BC, HDMI, plus SO much more.
Sure it doesn't have a built-in Blueray or wifi, but thats a good thing. If they woulda put in a HD drive, it woulda been an HD-DVD and it would have flopped. WiFi... pfft. Serious Gamers don't use WiFi to game. Latency on wifi is horrible. Trust me I know I'm an IT Administrator and have all those Cisco certification thi...
FF7 made me love RPG's.
For the price of $300, you could buy both a PSP and a DS.
Seems like a neat design though. To me it looks like a well designed unit designed on 1995 technology.
I guess emulation would be neat as you could download all your "previously owned" games to play on 1 unit.
It runs a form of linux, which is cool. It would allow the thing to be customized pretty well. I think I would see justifying $300 on a handheld PC vs a handheld emulator of old ga...
