If you think opinions seen on gaming websites are common then Madden, FIFA, and COD would never touch the top 10 in sales charts. The fact is people don't want simple MP modes anymore. They want a constant drip of new content and the only way to fund that is through microtransactions/battle passes etc. Any barebones MP mode with no updates would lose a healthy player population after no more than a few weeks to a month
No idea. They just mentioned each console is >20% down YoY in units sold.
Revenue may not be too significant of a drop from sales as the November data only includes Black Friday and Saturday where there would be any sales. Doesnt even include cyber Monday etc.
Part of the reason is in 2022 Sony prioritized the US market so there was good stock in the US last year. This was the first year stock was really available in UK/EU which is why youre seeing an explosion in YoY sales numbers in other markets
>20% drop in all 3 consoles YoY
Comparing to last year with ~20% drop estimates are:
PS5 ~1 million
XSX/S ~584k
Switch ~584k (less than Xbox)
Definite sign that these systems need a price cut. The discounts ($350 XSX etc) didnt seem to go into effect until after this tracking period. PS5 didnt have any real discount and was just bundling games.
Playstation may have a hard time hitting 25M sold unless Decemb...
No. The cases argued were different.
Epic sued Apple for a monopoly over iOS. Apple said iOS competes with Android, MS, Nintendo, Sony, etc for Fortnite. Therefore there is market competition and no monopoly. The judges agreed.
Epic sued Google over a monopoly on android devices. Because Google was found to have shady deals preventing phone manufacturers from putting competing stores on phones as a default app, among other shady dealings, they found googl...
Xbox just keeps on winning! This move will allow them to expand GamePass even further and funnel more and more revenue into their first party titles! Phil just can do no This post is brought to you by manscaped.com. When manscaping, you gotta use the right tools for the job, and trust me, your balls will thank you. I've actually been using Manscaped for months already. I own a couple of their products like The Lawn Mower™ 2.0 and their ball deodorant, because it's the only thing that ...
I'd bet a years salary that Blade and OD are Xbox/PC only. Throw in mobile for OD
I think there's a big difference between Horse Armor (which I assume the other person was referring to) and actual DLC "content" like Phantom Liberty or a rogue-like mode etc
@babadivad
Yup. You'd have to pop in the DVD before going to the bathroom, grabbing a snack, etc
They did. Most of that old studio went on to form Dambuster Studio (Dead Island 2). Embracer bought the rights and created a new internal studio called Free Radical with some of the old team and got them working on a new TimeSplitters. They announced they are shutting that studio down today after about 2 years
They're most definitely not sweating. Still #1 for November. A new free to play FPS with a hyped beta has a long way to go before it makes CoD sweat. Can check the charts at the end of the month and see how things stand before we make any judgment calls
The difficulty is getting people to watch the awards at all then if they reduce or seperate the trailers somehow. Nobody watches the DICE awards or the GDC Awards, and those awards are generally more respected amongst developers in the industry. Part of the reason TGA runs through so many awards quickly is no one is there to receive them
If there is one thing the CoD devs seems consistently good at, it is misjudging how their output will be received
Its easy to downplay "who won" because TGA isn't truly the new E3. Its not really a competition like E3 was. The only winners are the people who play games (and the award winners quickly brushed off the stage).
If they didnt do their own presentations throughout the year and this was all Sony and MS had then yeah, MS had more. And nintendo might as well not exist.
I think he also said Sony was buying CDPR and EA at one point. Im not even sure there is proof of him being an ex-dev
He says his sources are EA devs, who are working on Black Panther and were told all Marvel games licensed out from 2022 onward have to be multiplatform
Sony only owns the movie rights. The character, cartoons, comics, games, etc are all still owned by Marvel. Sony definitely had to get the license from Marvel to make a Spiderman game. If not, they probably would have made one before, and its why "Marvel" is included on the box/promotional content
You should go outside. If its been awhile do it in babysteps. Maybe start off with a time slightly longer than the MW3 campaign
Those pics of a physical game, I forget if it was last years FIFA or this years EA FC being bundled with the series S were pretty funny at least
I think theyre different scenarios. Bioware lost leadership and went with a broken GaaS game in Anthem. Bethesda just makes games that are stuck in 2012. In 2006 it was amazing. In 2023 not so much.
