Its sales numbers so doesn't include GP. GP numbers would be "players" or a useless metric like number of bullets fired
They also released numbers for the entirety of 2023. The PS4 sold more software in Europe than the X/S
"In terms of platforms, PC was No.1 in terms of game sales, ahead of PS5 (No.2), Switch (No.3), PS4 (No.4) and Xbox Series S and X (No.5)"
Indiana Jones and the Pythagorean Theorem
This site is terrible at recognizing sarcasm
This is exactly the psychological part of our monkey brains that companies abuse with subscription models. Once you pay for it, its "free"
Once they port Skyrim to it they'll begin counting it as a console
"Who is this even made for?"
Day One releases on Xbox GrainPass, the best meal in gaming
I really couldn't get into Nioh or Wo Long at all. Will definitely be wait and see with this game, especially with Dragons Dogma 2 coming out the same day. The fact Sony is putting this under the PS Studios name makes me somewhat optimistic at least that they've vetted the quality of the game
It cost $81 million to make and it sold $145 million by mid 2022. Hence $64 million in profit, and only more since then.
Jump won't be like the 360. Going from PS2 graphics to HD with the 360 was a massive technologic leap and people were willing to pay to get there early. Look how little has changed from last gen to this gen. A small incremental improvement in graphics and framerate at a premium price won't make people jump ship from PS5. Also, they'll be closer in competition to the Switch 2 release timing, and they'll anger Series adopters and probably 3rd party devs who will have to split be...
The one LinkedIn specifically says "unannounced project" and was updated in June 2023. Concord was announced in May 2023. Some of them also list as being in LA whereas Firewalk is based in Bellevue, Washington.
Hard to say until we hear more
Xbox gamers went through MS giving up on the One after 3 years, closing off nearly all their studios, the Series launch with literally no titles, disappointments in 2021 and nothing in 2022 and they are still Xbox gamers. I don't think waiting 3 months for CoD on Gamepass is going to change their minds either
Its when launch aligned, as in over the first 3 years of each systems life
Globally, the PS5 is equal to or slightly greater than the PS4 console sales at 3 years in.
Globally, the Xbox series is over a million behind Xbox One at 3 years in
Theyre in a tough spot because they arent selling hardware very well, are admitting their hardware is not the future, and are selling their current hardware at a huge loss, yet at the same time that hardware is by far the best way for them to increase GP sub numbers. Spencer has said that console is their best way to get people trapped in their ecosystem. Even in their lofty goals they expected console to make up roughly half of their subs, so they still expected a large component of hardware...
They aren't false slides. There is only one person saying they are fake, and a few people with access to the leak say it's not. Also, why would a fanboy insert a false slide that isn't even that damaging? Like seriously a powerpoint presentation saying Sony is concerned about MS spending $80 billion on former 3rd party publishers is surprising to anyone? Why would someone insert fake slides based on dated information (COD not coming to playstation after 2027 etc.)
Europe (including UK)
PS5 for Nov 2023: over 1 million
Xbox for entire 2023 so far: 880k
In Europe, PS5 sold more in 1 month than Xbox Series has sold all year. Worldwide numbers are going to be very heavily skew towards PS5
Steam
They're switching from seasons to operations. If anything they'll be pumping out more GaaS this way as instead of seasonal content every 4-6 months its operations every 4-6 weeks. Interested to see how this style of content works out. I don't like the concept of Battle Passes but Operations seem unique. (New content is free to play and unlock for a time then becomes B2P later)
The timing of the pivot is strange as the game has finally seemed to be hitting its s...
