Bethesda didn't know they'd be blocked from publishing on PS5. Emails came out during the FTC trial that showed they were actually pissed they weren't treated the same way as ABK/COD where they will continue to make games for PS5 (and now Switch)

In UK they sold 25k in August. This bump is week over week. Extrapolating to whole month they'd sell around 43k for September (at best)

I remember seeing the initial trailer, butt I've really been waiting for more information to keep myself abreast of all the game has to offer

I am hopeful this is the last game this level of toxicity happens with, as this was the only game that was actually taken away from PS5 players with all the recent acquisitions. And before people say "iT wAs NeVer AnNoUNceD foR Ps5" you are seriously naive to think it wasn't in development for PS5 prior to the acquisition, and the court documents from the FTC case confirm that

They also put it on Switch fwiw, so I do think expanding the player base was a big part of the increase, as these games typically sold 1 million copies and are now pushing 2 million.

I agree its not much for a sports game, but you also have to remember that most people don't give a shit about baseball.

Cloud gaming is the only space UK and EU regulators had concerns. This deal is being done to further address their concerns and nothing more

I mean FIFA, Madden, 2K all are live service games that last a year until the next release comes out and wipes all the money you already spent down the drain. A small group will complain but these franchises are breaking profit records every year. COD isn't any different

Just over half of Xbox Series consoles are the S. There's no way companies will want to make a game for the smallest install base in gaming and then cut that install base in half

If you read the article, its that the original concession by MS was for ABK games to be available on other cloud streaming services globally. Since MS is now planning to sell the UK cloud rights to Ubisoft, to appease the EUs current agreement, which means global availability on other cloud platforms, they now need Ubisoft to agree to the same as well

So glad Microsoft will own this company that is just a shell of its former self and can put these 7 studios to work on something where their talent can truly shine, like Modern Warfare 4

Thats not great reasoning. Most people don't finish games. Most open world games sit at around 20-25% completion percentage. Any game on xbox will have lower completion percentage because the barrier to entry is so low with a GamePass account.

If Microsoft allows this game on Series X and not S it sets a bad precedent and completely fractures their platform base. This generation is not even halfway through and the Series S will only grow into more of a problem for games like this. If one studio gets a pass many others will follow suit.

"If this ABK stuff never went down FF games would never be coming to the Xbox there's no way this was a coincidence."

Ff14 is a nearly 13 year old game that SE has been trying to bring to Xbox for years. The hold up was always that Xbox didn't want to play nice with crossplay. They didn't want people across different platforms to be able to chat or form communities (guilds, linkshells in FF14). The FF14 team didnt want to split the community and said t...

I think its more the publishers revenue obsession...

As much as developers think exclusivity is a waste, I think there are some games that benefit from it. For example, I don't think the Resistance series would do that well if it was multiplatform. Would Enslaved have sold better if it had that magical "exclusive" quality? Heavenly Sword seems to think so. I think for the most part this is an exception rather than a rule but some games can really benefit from the draw the word "exclusive" provides.

No there have been pricing errors before. For some reason I think Super Smash Bros. Brawl on release had a ridiculous online price of like 1 dollar through K-mart maybe and not a single one of those orders were fulfilled at that price. Could be wrong on the game but those pricing errors are never fulfilled

EDIT: Was actually Wal-Mart, and 20 bucks

It's cause the 3D screen route won't work on large screens yet, though they are working on that technology. Even Nintendo said the 3DS wouldn't work if it was larger. And yes, the quality of 3D, as of now, is better with the active shutter glasses.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I popped Halo 3 in and was like "oh yeah, I can't play slayers anymore." I don't mind map packs and such, as they are usually worth it to the people who want them, but the fact that playlists are disabled for people who don't buy them is ridiculous.

And how did Sony get in this conversation? They don't do any of this stuff.
