But its still doing somewhat respectably in the US and UK. I know these have always been where Xbox does best, but what is it about EU where it can't even make a dent?
Just going off PSN trophy percentages
34.7% completed Hogwarts last boss
35.3% beat Godfrey (last boss with trophy data before the ending is split into 3)
Looks like pretty similar completion between the two, on Playstation at least
Honestly surprised Xbox is doing that poorly in Europe. I wonder if subscription services and digital don't do well there comparatively? Is it a cultural thing or internet caps or something? I have heard the series S in particular is really unpopular there. Is Europe still mad that 90% of the Xbox One features were for USA only?
How am I supposed to criticize them for only making open world narrative games if they start making some multiplayer live service games too?
I think Sony does it to give their titles a little bump after a month or so of sales. They've done that with a few titles. I think they did the same deal with photo modes
Apparently this is a reference to Ghostbusters...??
FWIW the Circana guy was asked on Twitter if digital sales would have any chance of putting Mario above Spiderman and he flat out said no.
No idea how the trend would be in the UK
Yeah they always use YoY to discuss console sales...except this month?
My whole OP point was that saying there is an Xbox tax is absurd when theyve had minimal quality output for the last 10-15 years, all as a result of squandering their dev teams. I wasn't talking about the last 2-3 years. In a lighter release year Hi Fi Rush would probably get a GOTY nom.
I never said Gears or Forza failed. I said their latest output was disappointing compared to the series standards, which is true from both critical reviews and public sentiment.
Cause you can't play all of them on a PS5? Maybe people prefer the Xbox controller? Maybe that specific game runs better on Xbox?
Why play multiplats on a PS5 when you can experience them on a PC?
In your "defense" you basically said I was right with every point. But as for the last part:
My point was over the last 10-15 years the studios Microsoft has have either closed or dropped in talent. Their big spending spree over the last 5 years is basically a reset button because everything from before is gone (by their own hand).
Can't comment on their newer acquisitions who haven't released anything yet. Time will tell. Its why I end...
I could give examples but I already know there's no convincing you.
In the 90s Rare had a reputation about as good as FromSoftware does now. Thats completely gone.
Lionhead went off the rails and was closed
Leadership was so stubborn on forcing Bungie to keep making Halo they were happier letting Bungie walk than doing something else
Redfall and Starfield are definitely a step down from Arkane and Bethesda's u...
Feels like this game missed its window with the delay. All the hype from the Summer is gone and it'll be drowned out by CoD and probably The Finals
Probably subsidized by Nintendo, Sony, and a bunch of 3rd party publishers too. They'll all pay for ad/trailer space
BG3 didnt "chart" because Circana only lists games from a specific list of publishers. Larian self published and is not on that list of publishers. Strangely Epic isnt on there either, so Alan Wake 2 won't "chart" either. As a digital only release it won't chart in the UK either as that is mostly physical data.
SOCOM got so screwed with the PSN outage right on release. Granted, SOCOM 4 was still a step down for the series either way but the memories from SOCOM 2 are still so good. I actually got some SOCOM vibes from Factions so I hope that game ends up coming out
There was an article from a pro Xbox site discussing the long history of Game Awards snubs Xbox has had. To support their argument they mentioned Gears of War 3.
Again, a pro Xbox site had to go back 12 YEARS to find a first party Xbox game with a compelling argument for a GOTY nomination.
TGA nominations are decided by a rotating panel of 120 journalists. This isn't Xbox being victimized. This isn't media bias. This is just a consistent failur...
I bet the MW3 numbers will show the majority of Xbox 1st party game sales for the entire year are from Playstation users
In the fine print at the bottom it says the list only includes Publishers in the "Digital Leader Panel" which are mostly the big ones. Larian self published BG3 and Larian isn't included in that Panel so won't show up on any charts other than the engagement charts
But which one will help you fall asleep faster?
