Has a lot of ground to cover to beat Hogwarts, TOTK, and probably COD
Spiderman 2 already selling more than Diablo 4 and Jedi Survivor for the entirety if 2023 is kind of crazy considering its only on one platform
Those are the same people who would criticize Sony for putting a first party studio like Naughty Dog or Santa Monica on a VR game as they would be "wasting dev time on niche releases"
Crazy that a trillion dollar company was able to convince some people they are victims in the video game space. Even worse when people repeatedly blame others for Xbox's failures. Xbox just hasn't made many compelling first party games worthy of a GOTY nomination for over a decade. That's not on the media
Keighley truly views this as the Oscars of gaming. He'd never put a negative award category up. We definitely need a video game Razzies now
Psychonauts 2 in 2021??
FF16 was one of those games where the more I played it the less I liked. By the time I got the platinum I was pretty bored by the combat system. Overall the game was fine but I don't think it's too hard to think of 6+ games better than it this year.
Industry standard is 30% to the console maker (some % to the retail store if its a physical disc), roughly 5% to production of the discs, and rest to the publisher. So MS will make 50-65%ish on each sale.
Not sure if CoD has different percentages based on prior contracts with Sony but probably not far off from the standard
It still is. That's the problem. It's also what happens when you repeatedly tell consumers consoles don't matter and you don't need a console to play your games
The COD/PS5 bundle probably moved a lot of units and, since that counts as a physical sale, may lower the digital percentage on ps5. Coupled with most xbox series sold not having a physical option, I imagine the digital spread will look slightly better for xbox
Whats crazy is those xbox numbers arent split. So thats xbox series + xbox one sales. Being barely double ps4 numbers is crazy.
It will probably change the PS/Xbox split as data has shown there is a higher percentage of digital xbs sales compared to ps5. However, physical sales have time and time again shown to track well with digital sales, meaning there is a very high likelihood digital sales are also 25% lower. Time will tell though
"You stuck your head so far up MW2's ass, I can't tell where 2 ends and 3 begins"
Anyone who thinks MS spent $67 billion to acquire the highest selling IP every year only to take a step back, look at its quality, and decide to space out the releases to lose revenue is delusional
It must be intentional to keep your hard drive full from downloading the competition
Nothing is going to pull people away from COD. It is the most casual a shooter can possibly be. Most people dont want to worry about objectives, squads, teammates, level destruction, etc. They just want to fire bullets at overpriced character skins. Its been the biggest gaming franchise for 20 years. MW4 could be nothing more than a QR code for a poop emoji and it would still be the biggest selling game of the year.
The Finals will end up having some success, but not at th...
You don't become a trillion dollar company by not caring when you lose millions
That works for some people, but for others its an awkward weight distribution, or the screen is too small, or every time you get a text/call youre interrupted. Having a device that solves all those problems would be very nice for me. I'm waiting for reviews but really the most important thing for me is that it has to just work as advertised
God of War: Bethesda Edition
Im surprised too. Starcraft was still a huge name in 2010. It was kinda the only new RTS around and other genres like MOBAs hadn't really kicked off yet. I do remember at the time sentiment around the game was
pretty angry the game was being split into 3 but I doubt that would have impacted sales to that degree
