Also, how do you forget something you spent 100s of hours doing after 1 week?

I mean, the acquisitions are why Starfield is something they can play on GamePass rather than something they would have to actually buy. So the acquisitions did give them something.

Only an idiot would think a company would spend billions to then turn around and give consumers a discount without a catch though

Game now has more frames per second than players, so that's something

Remaster might need to be done for the PC version, that's the only thing that would make sense

I think a console will still be a priority for them. Having someone locked into Xbox means they have no alternatives to buying games/gamepass. People with a streaming stick can always do whatever netflix/apple/amazon are doing and will do in gaming the next few years. People with a PC have steam/GOG, etc. Anyone who games on xbox MUST go through microsoft themselves. Console players are the most reliable source of income

The campaign is fine but the end game is pretty terrible, boring, repetitive, and unrewarding.

The game has lost an absurd 99.3%+ of its player base once the seasonal content started

It didnt scratch the D2 itch for me at all

This is their financial report from early 2022. They list MLB the Show as a live service game and mention they will add 2 live service franchises in 2022. GT7 is the only game they released in 2022 that would count. The other was probably supposed to be Factions. GT7 is getting free updates, requires always online, and has a daily ...

@crazyCoconuts @Crows90

Sony's definition of live service is pretty broad. Stuff like Gran Turismo 7 and MLB The Show count for them. Helldivers 2 will count. I'm not sure if they're including Marathon or Destiny 2 as Bungie remains seperate from Playstation Studios

Ehh my Dad is a boomer and I remember him bringing home pirated floppys of Doom and Wolfenstein that had made their way through his workplace. 30 years ago boomers were in their mid-late 30s. Not saying gaming at that age was anywhere close to as prevalent as it is today, but there are definitely boomers who played them.

Either way, agree the term is stupid

Curious enough to read the article?

“We were disappointed by how many games depict sexual assault as being gratifying and arousing, so we chose to depict is [sic] as simply disgusting and revolting. The sequence involves an emaciated, wrinkled alien creature bobbing up and down while licking the camera. This, to us, is so disgusting that it required advance warning and an option to disable the content."

I think this is very unlikely even if they don't hit their targets, but them leaving would be terrible for the industry. Shame they are gambling everything on a very high risk subscription model

I saw all the complaints about Blizzard losing their way via online forums etc and thought it was just the usual hyperbole. Diablo 4 made me realize its true

That generation was pretty good in the 2nd half actually. Xbox at the time was churning out good games and had really strong timed exclusives with Bioshock, Mass Effect, Braid, etc. That was the most competitive the market has been in the last 30 years

Problem is MS needs to more than triple GP subs in 5 years. They know they need to keep adding content to make it more enticing. With game development time, they know they cant do this by developing new IP. The only way to increase GP content is to buy publishers (not even studios) to throw ready made games on there ASAP. And most people don't care about the long term ramifications if it means they can play everything for $15 a month

@sagapo very few people against the acquisition want MS to drop out of gaming. The problem with these acquisitions is MS is not adding anything to the industry. MS does not care about acquiring talent, they only care about acquiring content to put on GamePass to drive subs. They don't want to expand the industry, they are happy just owning more of the pie thats already there. Most of Sony's recent acquisitions are new studios with new IP that will hopefully bring something new to the ...

It would probably not be stopped. The only groups with any objection to ABK were the CMA and FTC. The CMA was concerned about cloud gaming which is now basically monopolized by Microsoft, so Sony wouldn't get any objections in that regard. The FTC has no teeth to actually do anything, just look at Ticketmaster

If Xbox was on its own there would be no Series S/X and the company would have died with the One

20% of GoW Ragnarok players didnt beat the first fight with Thor.

46% of Horizon Forbidden West players didn't even actually make it into the Forbidden West (player count likely very elevated by this being a bundled game for awhile)

Achievement data is never a good indicator of the quality of a game. Fact is way too many people buy games and never play them

Really curious to know the reason they withheld review codes from these UK outlets. Gives lots of people reasons to discount the reviews as being biased since they're just "getting back" at Bethesda.
