Great game. Not the best RPG but certainly top 20 material. There's a huge list of competitors when you sit down and think about it. A few do stories that are just mind blowing.
I've taken for granted how clever the N64 logo was until today. Just awesome.
I totally bought the incomplete edition :(. Except the DLC content for this game was severely limited and mediocre, so I don't feel too ripped off.
Really was terrible. Would have preferred something more out there like how Blood Dragon was.
Also true. Just saying $20 is a cheap entry point to avoid playing a game a year and a half after it comes out. It was pretty amazing at release but I could see it being kind of dated by that time. Then again, I didn't play Demon's Souls until years after release and still loved it. Obviously a completely different experience though since FPS never age as gracefully and become replaceable far more easily.
Still have only played the first one. I remember it being pretty mediocre, but then again, it was almost like Square's take on Lair way ahead of its time.
Boom. But ya that's more than likely the answer. I've already bought 99% of what they have to offer dirt cheap during sales, so there's not much here for me...and I still refuse to pick up the XIII sequels.
What just escalated?
Hmmm... from what you are saying it sounds kind of like Ether One which I hated (so damn boring and the plot did nothing for me). This does look more appealing in an artistic sense though (atmosphere, music, story, and graphics). It's like Proteus as well I guess. I like exploration in my games, but only if its done really well. Shadow of the Colossus for example was pretty fun to explore despite its emptiness. And it had the amazing gameplay to boot.
Except the games been available for $20 multiple times and this will be full price. So yeah...there wasn't really a reason to wait when just getting the original with DLC is probably cheaper.
Wait and see boat. Remember when the Order was hyped to be some revolutionary new IP. It was okay but not the masterpiece it was hyped up to be. I feel about the same with this game. That and it seems like we know next to nothing about it still. Hard to call it amazing or rubbish as it is now.
Agreed. XMB was better.
I love when they mess with the narrative using time and different perspectives so that would be cool. I personally think we will get some flashbacks to explain the backstory between Drake and Sam. There are clearly some important dynamics at work between them and it needs to be well detailed. I think the plot will end up being some kind of showdown between them maybe? Or at least some kind of tragedy will go down based on the title involving a third party.
Still better cast than XII. At least the characters felt like interesting three dimensional individuals whereas XII everyone was a piece of cardboard/potato with the exception of Balthier. Every character also had a solid backstory and Tidus' character development wholly redeemed him.
Yeah it had one of the best worlds, stories, and soundtracks of the franchise. It also reached passive turn-based perfection while offering up a solid amount of side content (more than most FFs except IX and maybe another). Looking back, the game is painfully linear at times and nthe story doesn't have the same impact, yet its still an RPG masterpiece and the best FF to grace the PS2 by far obviously.
I wish they would spread the love a bit more with Dragon Quest remakes/remasters. Guess I should probably buy a 3DS lol. Then I can get all the DS games too because of BC.
Why not switch the internal for 2TB instead? Same result but less space.
Nice. I remember the first game back in the day. Kind of poorly executed but kind of innovative in a way. Falling through the floor into random stuff below kind of reminded me of that old home alone game where you could fall through the floor and see treasure sitting on the hell-like underground below. Man game design was open-ended back then. I miss the first Contra.
I would agree. That and COD 4 and Halo 2 are my favourites.
We will never know.
