It's very true. If you're only waiting on a select few exclusives I don't see why you wouldn't game on PC if you're comfortable with it.
For me, PC is a crapshoot as far as RPGs go so I could never do it. It's great if you just play the one good WRPG of the year (sometimes two like this year) but if you want some solid JRPGs you're up the creek or in the case of final fantasy you can expect a port a year or so later. But at this point final fantas...
Honestly the Wii U has great looking games but this isn't one of them. Mario Kart, Wind Waker HD, and Super Mario 3D World really show how Nintendo has mastered a cartoonish art direction to the point where everything looks flawless and pixels/jaggies are basically impossible to find.
Something something about discouraging piracy by not gouging PC gamers as well. I'm not sure if this is true but what else could it be?
Yeah we're at 25% and a year and 8 months where to match PS2 linearly it would have to be the same sales and two and a half years passed. By then PS4 will easily be at 35M+.
As a PS fanboy I agree. Expect the X1 to still hitbetween 80 and 90M lifetime sales. And who knows about Nintendo's two systems. That right there plus the mobile games market raking in casuals is a lot more competition than the PS2 ever had to deal with. I still think PS4 will match it though once the really big games come.
I hope Uncharted 4 has all the sales. If not that, you know TLoU2 is going to break stores. Then there's all of these JRPGs. I hope they get localized.
That was more like a classic Mario game in 3D that focused more on multiplayer. It was more or less a spin-off of the "new" series if anything. A true 3D single player adventure has not happened though. You know something with huge levels, sandboxes, no time constraints, collecting stars or w/e, etc.
5 year cycles are pretty underwhelming. Just drop the amiibos and keep releasing games like this that everyone wants to play. The NX feels kind of redundant if it's not even going to be as powerful as the current gen systems. The Wii U pulls off great graphics already since Nintendo uses a cartoony approach to graphics.
It's a pretty sweet game but I would never play it again tbh. Like Limbo or Braid or something it's more of a once and done kind of game. Actually I would play Braid again just to witness the story unfold at the end again. Actually amazing.
Those games go so far beyond their high school atmosphere it's ridiculous. With all the stuff that goes down, you could swear they were at least university students.
Generations always take awhile to get into full swing. I remember 2008 blew my mind with MGS4 and LBP? but then 2009 had Uncharted 2 and some others that really made me appreciate my PS3. Only thing about last gen though was the JRPG situation was really weak. That could be changing now.
Not sure why you got disagrees. The director of VII has to wrap up work on KH3 and that might not even release next year. When they get into full development of FF7 it will be at least a 3 year process. Earliest we could see it is 2019 honestly unless they put KH3 on hold altogether.
Agreed. I would have spent 100 more for a 500 dollar PS4 with a marginally better CPU.
Edit: I almost wonder if including the cell again would have made it more powerful.
I swear FFXI on PS2 would dip to like 0.2 fps. As in you would get a frame maybe every 5 seconds while your system was trying to process ten thousand actions going on around you at once.
Console gaming for me has been about 3 things: the exclusives(more a Nintendo or playstation thing obviously), the ease of use (everything is standardized and simplistic), and local co-op.
Perhaps local co-op is possible on PC now but I have yet to see it in action. All of the PC gamers I know are loners when it comes to gaming. The most interaction they get is some text in LoL. Obviously this would be a sweeping generalization and is far from an accurate depiction of the ave...
Can't wait to collect 7GB of alchemy ingredients when the inevitable TES VI comes out. It's going to be tricky to make it lag unless there's Oblivion gates spawning in the city again.
Sounds reasonable but would require them to be extremely versatile. I'm more excited for a year or two down the line when they discontinue PS3 free games and add to the PS4 lineup. Although we already get about 4 games on PS4 due to crossplay (another great idea spearheaded by Sony lol).
LoU:R would be a cool addition considering Uncharted 3 was free. However it had great sales, so I don't know if they would do it. They tend to not offer games everyone already has unlike MS offering Halo and Gears on the 360. And no, the God of War game they just put up was not as commercially successful as GoW3 or GeoW3 by a long shot.
And Injustice was more valuable/new compared to AC4. AC4 goes for the same price as Infamous First Light actually if not cheaper. That and First Light is the vastly superior game imo.
Three times larger in a spatial sense or three times longer or both? Good to see them doing the dynamic background loading like Naughty Dog has been doing for years. It really adds to the immersion.
