Hm yes.. @WhiteLightning, it appears that you're judging too quickly. "Uncharted isn't unique anymore", is a huge overstatement considering you're judging off a beta. You may be right in the end, but you may just as well be wrong.
Take it easy, give proper feedback to the beta, and play the final game with an open mind. I am sure they are making major tweaks within the time of the beta, not only just to satisfy unbelievers, but undoubtedly because they a...
Sounds like a fun deal. They tried to make it accessible to gamers in a reasonable way. Playing on a 24" screen is like a fine, fine PC type setup. Which if made as a personal gaming device works great.
I don't see why the author of this article expected the split screen to be in 3D. Yeesh.
The video is quite small so it's difficult to say anything with 100% conviction. However, though I usually fall under the category of "sigh another COD game, move along", that video was pretty wild. I don't much mind if they're scripted events as long as it draws me into the environment and the overall feel of the experience.
Who knows, it may end up being same old COD (MW2 and BlackOps looked very outdated to me), but it may end up being a bit of a revi...
Hahahaha. Ohh man. Don't know why but that made me laugh hard
I'm almost done the single player campaign - just in the space station. The game is freaking amazing, especially when it comes to gameplay. GG just nailed it. The dialogue, however, is piss poor. I really don't see how on such a high budget game they don't seem to notice just how superficial the dialogue is. That's my only beef with the game, that and the mysteriously absent deep stat tracking system from KZ2.
Otherwise, man the gameplay and set pieces are so ...
That's cool. I enjoyed flower quite a bit, and consider myself very optimistic for the direction of interactive arts. Imagine Manet's "Dejeuner sur l'herbe" in interactive 3D space. Far out.
Great comment. I 100% totally agree with what you are saying here. I'm having such a clue right now.
Hm. I just bought KZ3 last night, and played a bit so far. I'm really curious to see how it all pans out. Now, I've played the demo/beta and loved the MP, and as a veteran FPS player since CS1.3, I feel like i'm really going to enjoy it.
As for the single player campaign, I'm keeping an open mind. I didn't finish the KZ2 campaign because I didn't much care for the story - the dialogue was just piss poor and I didn't feel invested. So anyway, i'...
Uncharted 3 and inFamous 2 would be stellar with Move. Though I've heard both Naughty Dogs and Sucker Punch have said they would not implement Move support. Damn shame if you ask me :(
I am disappointed that the story 'apparently' won't be as deep as one might hope. After playing the single player demo last night, I was really excited by the cinematics. It left me with the impression: how could I possibly be disappointed by the story? But then again, the last bit was just a trailer, and trailers are supposed to do that. But the cutscenes and set pieces were brilliant.
I don't know.. I always hope a story is really engaging. Like MGS or Uncha...
Sweet it just signed on! :)
KZ3 demo downloading, though fairly slowly...
Um.. Network down for anyone else?
Yeah i'm loving the beta with the Move. I simply cannot go back to using the Dualshock for FPS. I love the precision with the Move, and though at first the movement was odd, I am now fully comfortable with it and it is more intuitive than any other control scheme.
Yup. Seems the story is really dragging it down.
Hm. I agree with: longer downtimes, and slightly higher health. I think the 'strong bullet' ribbon is unnecessary, and makes the kills too quick. However, I did find that KZ2 health was a bit too high. I always liked the spawn grenades, but there was certainly a major problem with them in KZ2.
I don't know how TSA's will fair in KZ3. So far i've not had much of a problem with them, though I agree with you Alpha, it limits the freedom of movement. It is a f...
You know, I played KZ2 and enjoyed it. I thought the multiplayer was one of the most dynamic and deep experiences i've played FPS-wise in a long time. Coming from an early 1.3 CounterStrike CAL player.
IMO, KZ3 has improved a lot from KZ2. I'll probably get knocked quite a bit for saying this, but there was just something about the polish and controls of KZ2 that made it all seem unresponsive. Not that it totally ruined the experience for me, but I found the experienc...
Ya know, from what I see here, KZ3 just polishes the hell out of everything. KZ2 lacked some things that made it just short of exceptional (from a 'fun' standpoint), but MAN, in terms of offering something that other FPS games don't have... level of polish! I don't mean just in terms of graphics, but the way one slides into cover, hops over a ledge and kicks the guy in the face, then while hes down perform the knife melee on him. Each melee kill is different, while then shooti...
Ya I just read it in full (I speak French fluently), and it's a very well written review. There's certainly some wild stuff to look forward to when KZ3 releases.
Hm. I thought it was pretty damn sweet.
@Everyone and Autodidactdystopia
Lay off the fella. I understand your need to dig beneath surface experiences, and understand the "how". I think that's what interests us in the visuals, and in the performance. There's no doubt in the beauty of the scene, and of the game in general - it's just interesting afterward from a perspective of either a developer, an artist, a curious joe, to question the mechanics behind the visual effect.
So le...
