I don't think that paying for something in order to net some profits is bad. Robbing someone of something at gun-point is bad. Would the story have been any different if he and his friends had mugged an elderly couple at gun-point? Different location, different victims, same story. The temptation for greed is always there...it's only a matter of whether you are the type of person to act on it (commit a crime for it).

that yes, Starcraft 2 has a huge following in South Korea and a decent following elsewhere, but the same could be said about the Final Fantasy games (with S. Korea being replaced with Japan), and yet that franchise is missing from the list. And is World of Warcraft a game that is slated to come out this year and do people still play it with the same fervor as when it peaked a couple years back? I imagine it would only take a couple of programmers and a couple of months work to convert HOME ...

looking at his list and comments, I would assume that he is a PC gamer first and a PS3 hater second. Placing MGS4 in 9th place isn't my biggest objection to the list, but rather the games he chose to put ahead of it. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a big fan of PC games (a former die hard of RTS games) but I am very aware of the popularity of PC gaming versus console gaming and have to disagree with a list that is supposedly a list of the top 10 games to watch for that is populated with PC/PC ec...

to your question lies in the fact that most Japanese use mass/public transportation to get around. They probably average around an hour a day on the bus or train. It is also very common to see adults playing their psp/ds in public as there is no stigma associated with adults playing games. Yes, the Japanese economy has been in a recession for the past 15 years or so but that hasn't really slowed Japanese consumer spending (just look at electronics sales, especially in the flat screen tv a...

after watching the original demo for heavy rain, all I could think about was how the girl had horse teeth and how distracting it was, and lo and behold....the demo turned out to be quite spot on. But all joking aside, the acting (voice and cg character) in that demo was superb as was the acting in this video clip. I was a really big fan of Indigo Prophecy and am also really intrigued by this game. Hope it doesn't disappoint.

Ever hear of a game called Marathon? Probably the best FPS of it's time. The first FPS that I played that totally sucked me in, and since I started college at that time, it's release couldn't have been worse timing.

have to agree. It'd be a different story if it were a neutral game publisher chiming in on who they thought had the upper hand but....to read about an exec downplaying the competition and patting his own back does not constitute as news. Hell, these execs probably do this sort of thing on a daily basis, with or without an audience. It's not too hard to imagine these guys waking up in the morning, staring at the bathroom mirror and repeating "We are the best. They have nothing on us. ...

but so far the whole Blu-ray movie playing feature in the PS3 is going swimmingly. And if HD-DVD ends up winning, it'll just be a couple hundred dollars. Compared to the cost of my home theater room/living room/bedroom setup, it's just a drop in the bucket. And it definitely won't diminish my PS3 (or 360) gaming experience in any way, just as the non-adoption of UMD hasn't diminished my PSP experience.

I understand the whole "importing" foreign movies concept, but I think that in a couple years time, you'll be able to get "copies" of those films on region-free disks (in the same way you can get region-free dvds). But what I don't understand are these comments...

"If you decide to retire to Iceland or New Zealand someday, you'll have to leave behind your entire Blu-ray collection because nothing will play on the Blu-ray players over there. If your lit...

have to do with the fact that the PS3, at its core, is a gaming machine and there are a lot of parents rich enough to buy their young children said gaming machine. And just as most parents don't know/bother to use cable/satellite/internet parental lock systems, they probably are less willing to spend the time to fully utilize/understand a "gaming" system for their children's entertainment. That and the fact that the PS3's features are so many that it probably seems too much like a...

I guess in the context of "modern" games (as in games that are relatively new franchises) Halo would come out on top, with the Guy Game coming in at a close second:)

And yes, that pic is a Ducati, a Desmosedici RR to be exact. My dream bike. Have to be a current owner of a 999 to actually order one...so a dream it will remain. Actually, even if that weren't the case, I would have to choose between a happy marriage and that bike...and well, bikes only run for so lo...

I think that Halo 2 should have killed a little of Halo 3's hype, but I guess I'm probably in the minority that thinks the sequel was a little bit disappointing. Having been wowed by a great console FPS experience (Halo 1), I guess I just over-hyped the series in my head (Halo 2). This time around, I've buffered myself with Half life 2 and have kept my mind off of the Halo media hype as much as possible. Hopefully, that should do the trick.
