Oh damn!!! Is it already the year 2010?? Jeeze, I must of over-slept:)
Do you really think that HD-DVD will come out on top against Blu-ray (though there is the good possibility that both fail)? And if so, would you be willing to make a friendly wager regarding the outcome? I already asked another person these questions, but sadly never got a reply. I'm just thinking that people will talk a lot of sh!t without thinking it through because there are no consequences when interacting on the web (unless you're into kiddy porn...). I think that Blu-ray will come out o...
"I'm talking about American Made products. Cars, electronics, ect."?? Are you kidding me? U.S. made cars are considered imports over there, so when you calculate the cost of the car after taxes, you are close to the Audi/Volkswagon range. U.S. consumers can't even get over the (forget about the) past reliability of U.S. cars, how do you expect the Japanese to? And name me as many U.S. electronics makers (commercial) as you can. The only ones that I can name off the top of my head a...
Who in the hell wants to watch porn in HD? Do you really want to have those stretch marks and implant scars in HD? HD is great for a lot of different programs, but when it comes to porn, the less "defined", probably the better.
I'm not sure which article you're reading but the one I read only mentioned sales in the U.S.. And as I have (as well as a hand full of others here) already mentioned, there are a pretty good supply of 360s in the stores, at least where I live.
My friend worked for Merril Lynch and he told me that sometimes the "insider" info would actually be "in the company" info. Basically, he was telling me that they like to "contribute" to the buying or selling of stock by releasing questionable data. If you took a stats class at college, you would understand the ability to use mathematics and stats to back any kind of claim. Hell, just look at what Sony does.
it'll give a general profile. And your first comment was an insult to the Japanese people. Though most Japanese have a horrible American/English accent, their grammar is probably on par with the average U.S. high school student. They start studying English in grade school.
I see the 360 at a lot of stores here in the U.S.. But then again, not sure what kind of stores you guys have over there.
because it wouldn't be much of a contest to compare the PS2 sales with the original Xbox sales. That'd be like taking stats on a boxing match between George Forman (in his prime) and Pee-wee Herman (in his prime).
Are you saying Halo sucks too? More team dynamics (depth) in CS. Just my opinion. Honestly, I'm not the biggest FPS fan, but its fun to play to past the time.
Ahmen!!!
give me your home phone number so that I can call your momma and have her slap you silly. The Japanese are a fine people, who have given us such things as: tamagochi, hentai-anime, pokkemon, hello kitty, j-pop, Iron Chef, and the list goes on. We should appreciate their contributions to the world. Oh yeah, and they are the actual World Champions of baseball. Funny huh?
You guys are just ASSUMING that there will never be a need for a 25gb disk. Given the choice, as a developer, which would you rather have? And don't think about what your girlfriends tell you in the sack...."no honey, size really doesn't matter to me...." :)
But in all seriousness, maybe Sony was thinking about Square-Enix when they decided to us Blu-ray. You know how those guys (and most RPG developers) love their cinematics. Imagine those scantily clad anime honeys in full ...
"PS3 fans need to come out of their fantasyland and realize that servers and bandwidth and maintenance of the system is not free"
Would you please explain this statement? How will the developement of servers for online games for the PS3 be any different than for the pc? I would imagine that a game that is popular to play online (good quality overall) would sell better, therefore the it would be in the developer's intrest to make it as accessible as possible (free). Hell, mos...
No need to convince me. I've read most of your posts and I believe I actually had an intelligent "discussion" with you, though I can't remeber about what, and you seem to be pretty level-headed. Too bad I can't say the same for the rest of the lot.
I got to back him up. He has, as far as I have read, never taken a fanboyish approach in defending his opinions (or stating them). He is one of the few level-headed minds on this forum and attacking him as though he is guilty of treason is really unneccassary. He has a different opinion regarding the PS3, so what? At least he is grounded by a realistic view of the console market (as a number of his past posts will prove, in which he states as a matter-of-factedly that the Sony machine still h...
I can see your reasoning and it seems sound except....if you were to count how many games the PS2 had by the time Xbox launched, took them out of the equation, and counted the total games each, Sony would still come out on top. Just because the 360 launched first, doesn't guarentee it to be "physically ahead", as you so eloquently put it. The PS2 had greater developer support, thus more games. I'm sure that there were many a game that were created by U.S./Europe developers that neve...
will support the PS3. I know that there are many polls suggesting otherwise, but if you look at their history (game preferences), you will see that RPG's have always ruled the charts. There will always be that quirky Japanese game that is a run-away hit, but the games that stay on the chart for long periods of time are your typical, melodramtic, drawn out, heavily cinematic RPGs. I don't think that is about to change anytime soon. I think that the Wii will also be very successful over there o...
that little country that is close to half of the population of the U.S.. You know, that strange foreign place that also happens to lead in the automotive and electronics industry. What the hell do those people know? And as a side note, 80-85% of the population falls into the middle-class category ($47,000.00/year). Really now, how could that possibly affect a company's sales and profits?
Who in their right (business) mind would purposely create a shortage before the biggest shopping spree of the year? If they could have 5 million units before Christmas, they would. Most people spend too much and have little to spend afterwards....
