"I disagree with this design decision" = Raging
I completely agree. Many people rag on the supposed "Ubisoft: The Game" where all their games play the same and all have the "tower" mechanic, it's sad but Bethesda has seemed to gone down a similar route. Aside from the story and aesthetics, each of their games has their awkwardly generated faces, lousy dialogue animations, directionless gameplay and rough combat. I was on the hype train for Fallout 3, and did sink many hours into it, but eventually the constant fight...
Jonathan blows at making video game stories. Don't project now.
...Super Mega Climax Ultimate Boy!
So....Azrael confirmed? Ummmm, hopefully that's not too much of a spoiler.
Rage was heavily inspired by the post apocalyptic look brought to screens by movies like Mad Max: Road Warrior (1982) and Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome (1985), not the other way around. The buggies, the wasteland, the bandits, all of that was inspired from those films. Similarly with the Fallout franchise.
1.04 fixed HairWorks performance for me. I think it's great. No problems on my front so far.
They could just call it Underground, but that would completely go against the branding/marketing of NFS. Hmmmm, interesting.
Or perhaps....TRISS FX? I'll be here all week.
The story section on the page is pretty comical, it's like five separate writing prompts all in one. But the graphic quality is very impressive, and I do love me a Diablo-eque action RPG romp. Hope to see more on this soon.
I agree. DA:I has a lot more trivial side quests and collectables, plus character customization, party members and party tactics. Witcher 3 has much more focus and development of a static protagonist, and in my opinion so far a much more developed and fine tuned story (since all of the characters and situations are written around the the main character and are therefore more specific). Graphically, Witcher 3 takes the cake, but then again it's a much more dark/low fantasy setting so you d...
I have a quad core 4.3Ghz AMD CPU and a GTX 980. I had some FPS issues originally when using the recommended specs (Ultra), but after turning off Hairworks it's been a silky smooth 60fps near constantly. I mean I should get this kind of performance from a $500 GPU, but I was worried that a medium-range AMD chip might have been a death spell.
PSA: Disable Hairworks! It's a GPU dominatrix for this game.
Poland: Land of sausage and fantastic RPGs.
What a lot of people fail to remember is if you boot up BF1 or BF2 what it has is a ton of content, features, vehicles and mechanics but it's all VERY rough. The shooting is sloppy and imprecise, vehicles handle roughly, animations janky, etc. Another point to mention is that the maps are pretty small (I noticed after playing it a couple weeks ago).
What we will get from the new one is a very polished, pretty, smooth experience on a smaller scale. But this is not a series...
I played four matches at PAX. Yeah it's basically TF2 with more of a character design philosophy like LOL or DOTA 2. Each character has unique abilities and movement options (climbing, jetpack, flying, grappling hook) and a unique "Ultimate" ability they have to charge up.
I don't know what their plan is for progression or how to keep people coming back, but I was having a lot of fun. Looking forward to the beta.
It all went wrong with Brotherhood. They split up the teams, started to make annual releases. The storyline suffered, not enough new ideas were implemented (seriously, Revelations's biggest innovation was a hookblade - for climbing a bit better). It reached boiling point when they out Call-of-Dutied Call of Duty and released two AAA games in one year.
Lack of focus, development/QA timeline and oversaturation has killed this franchise for me. And AC 1 and 2 showed that is ...
For home gaming DRM is usually fairly harmless, but when travelling with a gaming laptop I am beginning to realize how crippling always-on DRM/Steam is for gaming - even for single player games. If you aren't able to get all of your single player games in the "all-clear" zone for Steam offline mode, or if your Wi-Fi bugs out, or if Steam is acting up that day, it renders on-the-go gaming almost impossible.
I really appreciate the consumer-friendly approach GOG i...
Looks like Jurassic Far Cry, I'm down with that though.
MISOGYNY somehow--I'll get back to you.
If this is indeed a AAA game and not some weird web/mobile/spinoff game, then I find the fact that it isn't a sequel very interesting. I for one felt mislead by early descriptions of the premise into thinking that the story was going to involve a bunch of gang wars, interesting conspiracies and intrigue. The final story was oddly complicated considering how few characters and plot points there were. Too few interesting moments or conversations and one too many betrayals just made the whol...
