3rd person shots with depth of field and advanced post processing aren't "screenshots". These look great, but MCC didn't look like this on the big 1080p screens at PAX Prime earlier this month. They looked like Halo 4 1080p@60fps. Solid, and quite playable. But not this.
This is a problem with the industry where marketing departments are afraid to show the actual game for some reason. Go on to any PSN, XBL or Steam page and you'll be hard pressed to find...
They're fairly long but not too awful. Bear in mind I have a hybrid SSHD. Protip though: You can press Start and go into your inventory while loading, dismantle stuff, look at your bounties, etc.. Not many games let you do this. Like I can't even name another game that does this.
So that's a plus.
I like to think of public events like Treasure Goblins in Diablo 3. You might be completely focused on the story and mission then all the sudden---TREASURE GOBLIN! KILL! KILL!
What fun times these are.
I played a bit of Dying Light and Dead Island 2 at PAX last week. Despite Technland getting a lot of flak for bugs and stability, the Dying Light alpha seemed to have a lot more atmosphere and polish. I think the parkour/free running adds a whole new element to the gameplay and brings a lot of new ideas and scenarios on to the table. Weirdly, the booth I played Dying Light on was almost empty, and wasn't hyped anywhere. I literally just walked up to it and played.
Dead Is...
Not to mention she's making more than a large amount of full-time employees make through her Patreon because of this game and the promise of future ones.

I'm all for developers being more open in the development cycle, and I do like hearing progress such as "going gold" and whatnot, but is it just me or does the fact that this game got delayed due to being denied certification give me a real backwoods and unprofessional image of 4J and any other parties involved with this game? Y'know, the little thing called Minecraft? The one that has sold over 53 million copies?
Not trying to rant here, but this kind of la...
I think the modern fantasy setting is interesting, but from what I saw of the gameplay it seemed to be completely wasted. Looks like a typical D&D style fantasy with players wearing modern clothing. Hoodies & Halberds?
I think the game concept is cool and have seen it work in a few other games already. Hope to see more specifics soon.
I am probably one of a few people who actually liked the last Alone in the Dark. The fantastic fire mechanics, the tense and realistic inventory system, interactive environments and car interiors, and some exciting setpieces and television/cinematic scenes.
On the other hand, the atrocious forced open-world sections where you had to kill something like 30 roots for no reason in order to unlock SKIPPING to the final mission, and another 10 or 15 to actually progress to it, sti...
First time going to PAX or a con in general. I'm scared/excited.
I understand that MS helped fund/publish the game, and that's totally fine, but when they noticed that it was their biggest system seller they quietly renegged their contract with EA, to even Respawn's surprise to make it a full exclusive. I'm not saying that isn't a good business move, but it does rub me the wrong way when you're just throwing money into thin air to screw your competitors. Sony put money into Bungie's and Ubisoft's pocket to gain some exclusive co...
This guy has the ego of an industry veteran, but c'mon. He got a very easy inroad into the industry and made ONE game.
Guys like Peter Molyneux get a lot of crap for letting their personalities and blabber get the best of them, but at least Peter has INVENTED genres and come up with truly original concepts time after time. Also, if anyone is justified in an ego trip, it's someone like Peter, who's literally been making games since before Phil was a sperm.

I see many fans getting peeved after their pre-orders get cancelled. You don't just pull the rug out from under customers once you've announced your game and offered pre-order incentives.
This is another example of how MS and Sony tend to do business. Microsoft buys out content, makes it exclusive, Sony helps build the content. The Sony indie scene is booming because so many devs apparently like working with Sony and they have a lot of dev-friendly policies. Most PS exclusives are built within Sony's in-house studios.
Microsoft on the other hand buys out the licenses to its biggest franchises and cherry picks hopefuls in an attempt to cash in its exclusivi...
I can't tell if they're serious or not.
If they're joking, I bet this went waaaaay over most people's heads.
If they're serious. I doubt even the most ardent feminist could be so stupid as to find a shallow cash-in mobile game about a shallow celebrity who virtually prostituted herself into stardom (or perhaps infamy) as empowering or progressive. Give me Gears of War with all its grunty shooting a hundred times over this trash.

This game has me really hopeful that a true successor to the old Fallout/Wasteland games is here, but in cases like this the Early Access program is inherently broken. In an RPG or story-heavy game, why would I play a rough and incomplete version?
I've been burnt by Early Access before, my only fully satisfying experience being Broforce, which is completely enjoyable as is, and just continues to evolve over time. But I am waiting patiently for Wasteland 2 to come out to c...
To each his own, but I've played an embarrassing amount of time between the Alpha and Beta, at least a good 15-20 hours already. I've hit the level 8 cap on four characters, and unlocked several skills beyond the leveling cap, and am not even halfway through my character's skill path, not even excluding the locked subclass(es) from the full game.
The point is, even if the beta is a full quarter of the game (based on the improbable fact that the five or so missions...
Dat skybox tho.
I think they just looks for something current and striking to rip off for their promo. I'm a graphic designer and my experience with companies who outsource to Indian designers is the same idea: rip off designs from successful American companies, pretty much pixel for pixel with little to no innovation.
Obviously condemning an entire country is pretty racist, but I will say it's a common trend there at least.
STILL better than Uwe Boll.
This really resonates with me. So many times did I have to get a game because it got a 9.5 or whatever. GTA V was one of the biggest disappointments last year, but I had to get it because it supposedly changed everything wrong with the formula and it was a review score darling.
I'm having a ton of fun right now on a game most reviewers trashed. The review format should bring up points and recommend them based on their appeal, not condemn/praise them with an arbitrary numb...
