This looks almost as interesting as politics in the Philippines!
Tetris, not even once.
Nice, kickstarted Hong Kong. Curses 'N'Chaos looks neat too.
Wonder if they pushed the beta back too...
Best retooling of the worst TIME cover I've seen in recent memory.
Pretty well made for a non-profit indie project. Let's hope it slides to completion before getting a cease and desist order like the other Square remakes.
Also, this is probably including demo players as it's all in the same system. Single-percentage didn't like the game enough to play more than a few minutes? Not too bad.
Some neat stuff in here. F4 really doesn't need the promotion at this point as pretty much the world knows and wants it, but its good to see gaming marketers give something rather than just spam television sets with expensive celebrity cameo commercials.
Despite Schafer's recent antics, public shaming and business problems, he still remains as a very influential designer. Not that I would back a single thing he's pushing until he proves himself a reliable and honest manager again, but that doesn't erase what he's done for the industry in the past.
Just like I wouldn't negate Peter Molyneux's great contributions to the industry because of his more recent over-promising and shenanigans.
It's sad to see the idea of independent development get besmirched by self-important hipster types. For every "Indie" we get like Tale of Tales or Phil Fish, there are a dozen really consumer-oriented, responsible and polite devs that are doing their best and want no association to those kinds of unprofessional people.
I'm hoping that people don't flock blindly to these fellows after the atrocious public meltdown they had. I don't care what product you offer, you never publicly spew hate speech to your audience. Never, ever, ever.
Some choice quotes:
"Hahaha. I'm so free. Look at me. I can say FUCK GAMES! FUCK GAMERS! FUCK THE GAME INDUSTRY! DIE! DIE!DIE! And rot in hell!"
"Perfect. Goodbye, gamers! May you die in the same ago...
Whoa there, Peter Molyneux. What'd we learn about overhyping?
I loved The Last of Us, but I found the upgrade crafting and leveling system in that game to be pretty worthless to be honest. It didn't happen often enough, there weren't enough crafting tables and there weren't enough upgrades to buy to make it seem like a complete system. I think crafting individual items worked well, and scavenging for supplies tied into the tone and theme of the story very nicely.
Overall, I figure you do a leveling system properly (and not a...
"Shyaaa! Like the guy with the $5,000 VR headset needs to listen to some movie director. C'MON!" - Gob
I agree, it should have been listed in the very simple control layout, and it should be more responsive than it is. I tried every button on the controller to no avail, never crossed my mind that I'd have to hold the button down for several seconds to get any response.
I added a friend over PSN from his post on an IGN forum. We ended up playing Battlefield and other games for over a year before we decided to meet up at PAX. We get along great, and we introduced eachother's wife/girlfriend respectively as well. As much BS and name-calling happens online, there are real friendships that arise too, they just don't make for news and/or successful Patreons.
How to disinterest gamers in four words? "Inspired by Kim Kardashian..."
The day that FF games were no longer released on Nintendo consoles was the day that Nintendo dropped the ball, IMHO. Their 3rd party support, ESPECIALLY of RPGs on the home console has never recovered over the following 20 years.
There's a typo in the headline: someone accidentally put a "1" before the "0". Proofreaders these days... /s
Bioware's proven to be really hit or miss with their DLC. It's strange. For every Leviathan, we get a Pinnacle Station.
