While I agree with everything you say. I think your math is a bit wrong. But hey, I'm no scientist.
This is pretty crazy. What I wouldn't do to play DX with the master himself.
I can't help but feel that Walmart's counter-sale is a bit disingenuous. I'm all for competition, but all of their best sales are online only, which makes me feel like they are just ignoring their bread and butter - their brick and mortar customers.
For some reason the cold disconnection of these words just make them all the more powerful. It's like something you'd have on a plaque, with a screenshot of a particularly buggy scene of the final version of the game set right above it.

So Sega basically made a Reddit Montage Parody? I'm actually kind of impressed.
This should be an internet law. Richard's Law?

I had the misfortune of playing this game after I played Ziggurat. Tower had an interesting idea, but Ziggurat one-upped them with combat variety, monster variety, an arguably more interesting setting and less annoying platforming (though that exists in less frustrating form).
I didn't really like Tower of Guns, and from what I heard it wasn't incredible in sales, let alone just being released for free for PS+ users. This is a weird move.
Based on the rollercoaster dev cycle this game has had, I feel its either going to be the Second Coming of Gaiden or Duke Nukem Forever.
Was it just me or did SIN just feel like a Lavos clone?

Game looks gorgeous, hopefully it's more "Ethan Carter", and less "Gone Home" or "Dear Esther". I like more game with my graphics.
Based off of Brian Fargo's explanation when he did this sort of thing with Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera, there are absolutely parts of the team that can move over to a new project. When a game is in its final crunch period before release, it's mostly down to the testers, coders and some technical artists to wrap up the project. Game designers and concept artists have pretty much wrapped up their work on the game now and are free to start a new project.

Same here. I was excited until I found out the beta is just a couple weeks out from the actual release. :(
New controller for the Xbox 360 in 2015? Mad Catz, we need to talk...
Doesn't look great but who knows, could be fun.
Strategy RPGs are a criminally overlooked genre. Glad to see some new blood to breathe life back into it.
As a solo indie game dev myself, kudos to Craig for finishing the game. Building a game by yourself is NOT easy and can very quickly lead to abandonment as there is no delegation, sharing of work, specialization or peer pressure.
Good job, man!
A few more off the top of my head...
Contra - Later games forgot what made the originals so great and challenging. 3d killed it pretty dead.
Age of Empires - Though not complete failures, the later iterations just became less and less workable, until they made a weird skirmish-based game with a Farmville-esque hub online game with its name.
Castlevania - The pre-SOTN games have pretty much died off, with only the Lords of Shadow game and sequ...
