I REALLY hope they pull this off. This series has been begging for a good game for 36 years.
WELL THEY DEFINITELY NAILED THE "DARK" PART. Does anyone have a flashlight?
We'll have to see how this pans out. The original system wasn't quite thought through enough. 1-20 was smooth as silk. You leveled nice and regularly, and had a neat progress bar on your screen to keep track of where you were. After 20 it became an RNG grindfest which was still fun in sort of a masochistic way, but it was a very different feel than the first 20 levels and didn't transition smoothly.
Case in point: It took my about a month to get into the late 20s ...
I think the main story problem is that they did all the WORLDBUILDING for their setting, but they either skimped out on or removed the actual STORYTELLING from the game. They practically did a worldbuilding note dump into the Grimoire and called it good. There is actually notes for some really fascinating stuff in there, you know, the foundation of what could be a grand, epic story.
I had a really good time with Destiny, but it's too bad that they fell short in the start-...
If I learned anything from the years-long hype train wait for Alan Wake, I'm going to avoid these trailers, screenshots and stories...and ignore it until release.
I've loved/enjoyed every game from Remedy so far, but Alan Wake was on such a high peak of hype that no game could deliver what I wanted by the time it came out.
I'd like to personally punch the beret-clad hispter who decided that a series of dots communicated the button faces better than the actual shapes or alterations of them.
I mean, Logitech did a controller with the square, circle, triangle and X buttons, and an altered version of them. Is it because of licensing fees or something?
Too bad, this game looked interesting in the early previews I saw.
Competition is good. I just hope its optimized cause the last thing we need is another Ubisoft or early CryEngine on our hands for PC gamers to have to wrangle.
"1st-person MOBA" is pretty accurate from what I've seen. I'd say that this game has actually been fairly underexposed for what it represents - the next big AAA game from Gearbox.
I just think its a little too oddball, with a few too many games coming out with a similar name (Battlefront, Battlefield, Battlecry, Battlezone, etc.) and a little past the prime of DOTA/LOL clones. The combat is going to be a little awkward for 1st person shooter fans since the g...
...And now I'm sad. It's too bad such a great idea for a project was started by a team with so little apparent experience/expertise. That could have been something special.
Just got this last night. I can see the frustration factor for sure, but it's like this reviewer has never played Spelunky. That game is extremely punishing. Fall too far, land on spikes, miss that platform and it's all over, back to the start for you. At least The Swindle lets goes on a mission-by-mission basis.
The punishing aspect is one of the things that makes these games attractive.
2-player same screen with one Vita is a pretty crazy idea, hope it works out.
I met these fellows at PAX Prime last year. My girlfriend really liked Tectonics and even bought into their beta a week or two after.
Still has some UI and tutorial quirks to sort out last time we tried it out, but we like the game overall.
Are we taking titling tips from PewDiePie now? Jeez.
If it's an opinion piece, state your opinion, don't ask for approval.
This is a great game. I bought it shortly after release on GOG and have been enjoying it a lot so far. You can tell the creators had a lot of love for Saban's legacy, and both honor the Rangers as well as poke fun at some of its cheesiness.
If I were to win, I'd give it to my friend who loved Rangers as a kid.
This looks great. I just got an Xbox One but it's UI is terrible. I personally loved the 2nd or 3rd major UI revision of the 360. The UI seems to have gotten worse every major version.
Well it doesn't look solid, to tell you the truth. It's these greedy corporate snakes that really kill creativity in the industry, but they're so plentiful you'd practically need a fox hound to flush them out. I'd kill for another game with as much substance as the earlier ones, but alas, it looks like any future tactical espionage action games rests on the shoulders of Kojima. Let's hope he pushes the pedal to the metal, gears up for a new project on Kickstarter or so...
Just one "siggestion", do a spellcheck.
Would have looked awkward because they aren't going through the same motions. The PS4 playthrough seemed to be much more direct and they took very different paths.
Don't let your games be games...
