I agree with you for the most part and they should take their time and complete their project, but it's impossible to make something that nobody hates, let alone a videogame. There's always gonna be haters.
The prospect of a 3DS-to-PS4 port is frightening. Hopefully they retained their high fidelity geometry and textures or we're gonna have another "Final Fantasy: The After Years" on our hands.
Based on his GDC talks, I'm very intrigued with the direction he's going on storytelling and AI. There are games that do story well, and there are games that allow sandbox gameplay, open-world experiences and freedom of choice. He's looking to merge the two. I really hope he pulls it off, as this could be the revolution story-driven games need right now.

If you read up on it, they were downsizing by choice, not necessity. And each and every employee was given studio time to build up their portfolio, and IG hosted a sort of "job fair" to help ensure they got jobs at other 2K studios or even 3rd party developers.

The Secret: Spend more than 6 months of development time on it, and don't hire developers with bad track records.
Based on how picky and secretive Valve is I doubt that whatever state this game was up to snuff. But the idea of a new shooter from Spector does bring a warm and fuzzy feeling to my heart.
Deus Ex and System Shock 2 were two of the best games ever made.
They sold another?! j/k I own one.

WORD AT WAR!
I haven't had a Pentium 4 since 2003. What is the point of this article?
The late Ensemble Studios made Halo Wars. That has nothing to do with Bungie or 343 Industries.
It's not an annual game if completely different studios make completely different games. That said I have yet to be thoroughly impressed by strategy games on console, but Halo Wars and Civ: Revolution were good steps in that direction.
They should celebrate with actually making games that work. PS2 and Dragon's Prophet are an optimization punchline years after release.
IT'S ON THE WALL!
You mean you can move backwards as well as forwards?

Call of Deus: Advanced Titanfare?
Oh I remember the days when different games had different feels and mechanics.
At first I thought this was a jab at Polygon and Vox Media, but I see no joke or satire in this. I have no idea what this is or who it's for. The description is barebones other than it having "clear audio".
As an (un)fortunate purchaser of the Limited Edition of Destiny, and a pre-orderer of Witcher 3, I can see your point. That said, the overlap of FPS-aholics and hardcore RPG players isn't as great as you would think. There's totally a market for both of these to be released on the same day.
Mad Max and MGS V releasing on the same day in my opinion is a much bigger problem both being open world 3rd person action games set in the desert with shooting and melee mechanics...
The speed, camera and fluidity of the combat looks like it's taking a couple cues from games like Arkham or Shadow of Mordor, but with just a hint Dark Souls. Me like.
Coming next month: Batman: For Realsies, Guys edition.
