I remember when this game was announced thinking that it was kind of risky to build your game around the premise of a city being destroyed by a natural disaster.
Still getting it on day one though.
Killzone 3 is a fun game when it's working correctly, but it's a complete mess technically and was obviously rushed to market.
It's already frozen on me more times than Fallout: New Vegas ever did, with almost all of those freezes requiring hard restarts. I still get disconnected from time to time, and since the patch the lag has been noticeably worse, with guys frequently ice skating around the screen and with all sorts of stuttering.
And th...

No, I guarantee that if you have downloaded the retro map pack, your maps haven't been rotating correctly either. This is a known problem that GG has openly acknowledged. And if you spent a few minutes on the killzone.com forums, you would see scores of complaints involving hard freezes and connection errors.
Sorry, but Killzone 3 is not up to the standard that I expect from first-party exclusives. I'm glad you're enjoying it thou...
Seriously. KZ3 is one of the most disappointing games I've ever played. This is the first PS3 exclusive I've experienced with this many technical problems and such poor pre-launch QA.
I've been playing since launch too, and this game was obviously rushed to market while still in beta form. That maps don't even rotate correctly for crying out loud.
Glad to see its getting a patch, but we're talking about issues that never should have been there in the first place.
Does anybody know if this has been confirmed for NA as well? It wouldn't be a huge deal if it was EU-only, but I'm looking forward to getting my hands on this ASAP.
Well put. This is a great development for Microsoft stockholders, but a very bad development for gamers.
Is the demo available in North America?
Pretty much all Sony exclusives get this treatment. Certain reviewers hold PS3 exclusives (Killzone 3, God of War, Motorstorm) to a far higher standard than multiplats in the same category (Bulletstorm, Bayonetta, Split/Second) and nitpick the exclusive to death. I call it the "Prototype Syndrome."
The review says that the hardest races in this game are easier than the hardest races on Pacific Rift. Thank God. I think it took me an hour and a half just to beat the last eliminator event on Sugar Rush.
Agreed. MS:PR was an awesome game that never got the sales it richly deserved. Glad to see Sony/Evo is making a bigger marketing push this time around.
The problem with Bad Company 2 was that too many maps were only playable in one game mode. Rather than release new maps, they just gave us the same, recycled maps, only with a new game mode unlocked that should have been available at launch.
I was hoping they were releasing a new, good version of RE5 the game. Instead its a movie. Bummer.
I played this game a lot on the 2600. I might have to take a look at this for nostalgia value if nothing else.
Agreed. Killzone 3 has some problems, but a C- is just stupid.
LOL @ "Jaffe" at 0:13. Nice reference.
Agreed. I still remember how I saw that tech demo for Killzone 2, and then when the actual game came out it was . . . wait, what was your point again?
Way too many AAA PS3 exclusives in the pipeline to waste money on a bad port. Sorry Crytek. Maybe next time.
@TheMysterion
Marskman aren't snipers. They CAN snipe, but as Nelo pointed out, they were designed to encourage people to get in there and help with objectives too.
Marksman <> Sniper
We already saw the new Xbox. It's called Kinect.
