Agreed that it's not really survival horror, but it's still probably my favorite game of all time. I've lost track of the number of times I played through this, but I'm 100% sure that it's more than 20. It's probably closer to 30 once you factor in speed runs, challenge runs, etc.
The atmosphere breaks down a little in the third act, although even then I remember the sense of dread when I was first passing through the hospital on the way to the o...
I'm in trouble, please recommend this message!
That's what I paid for my copy. Amazon offerred a $20 credit for my preorder.
Yeah, I'm getting KZ3 on day one, but I really don't want this game ruined by this shit.
Yep. You really don't want to divide the community on Day One. GG is doing it right.
Who cares? If somebody wants to hack some trophies, that doesn't affect me at all. It's just sad that somebody cares enough to do this.
I don't care about mandatory installs. I just have slow-as-hell internet and it would take forever to download 12 GBs.
That's excellent news. Day 1 confirmed.
Do you have a link for that?
Edit: Never mind. EA has apparently confirmed that the regular PS3 edition (the "limited edition") comes with Extraction. You don't need to spring for the Collectors Edition.

@RaSS -- the Limited Edition is the standard release for the PS3. Your only options are the Limited Edition ($60) and the Col...
I don't really care about the movies. I just wish EA would get around to clarifying whether the PS3 version of Dead Space 2 comes bundled with Extraction or not.
Resident Evil 5 was screwed up in lots of ways. Coop was just one such mistake. That game has no atmosphere at all, which is something Dead Space had in spades.
Mass Effect and Uncharted are different types of games. Saying that ME2 has better gameplay than Uncharted 2 is the equivalent of saying that vanilla ice cream is better than chocolate.
These articles are getting tiresome. As a PS3 owner, I'm thrilled about 2011, but we've known since E3 how this was going to play out. Just give me Killzone 3 already.
@bigpappy
Sorry, but I don't own Move, and I couldn't less how well Move sells vs. Kinect, seeing as how I don't own stock in either Sony or Microsoft. I just like to play quality games on my console of choice. I'm glad you're enjoying your on-rails games. Different strokes I guess.
Bad example. MW2 is an online game with a tacked-on SP campaign. Of course online multiplayer "extends" the game -- that's what it was built for.
Personally, there are lots of SP games that at least for me have all sorts of replayability without needing multiplayer. I think I played RE4 at least 20 times, for instance. This gen, I've gotten 6+ playthroughs out of Dead Space, Uncharted, Uncharted 2, and MGS4. (The last two have multiplayer, but I never ...
It *should* generate a lot of hate. Kinect is just about ruining the 360 by diverting resources away from hardcore games. For 99.9% of the people who hang out at N4G, that's a bad thing.
You're right about sales, though. One thing that the Wii proved and that Kinect is proving is that there are a huge number of people out there who like motion control, dance games, party games, fitness games, etc. This fact makes me sad, but it's hard to fault Microsoft for ...
Good. This franchise does a great job of developing a compelling story and movie-like experience. Keeping it linear is fine with me. Leave the open-world stuff to franchises that are more suited it that style.
Same here. I'll play Dead Space 2 eventually -- I loved the first -- but unfortunately it releases too close to ME2 and that one wins out.
Owning both isn't really necessary. There's hardly anything coming out the 360 that I can't play on my PS3, but there's a ton of stuff coming out on the PS3 that I wouldn't be able to play on a 360. There's little reason to own a console that relies almost entirely on multiplats.
"You pervert!"
