BFBC2 was awesome. I'd be completely happy if BF3 was the same game with an updated engine and new maps.
The only thing I can think of that's unfair about this game is that in one level, you will sometimes walk off a cliff by accident when you inadvertently lock-on to the wrong enemy. Everyone who has beaten the game knows the area I'm talking about in 4-1.
Otherwise, I can't think of a single time I ever died in a way that I thought was unfair. Even the invisible phantom who one-shotted me toward the end of a difficult level was fair -- I was stupid to not have ...
Yes, it is all that. Demon's Souls is my favorite game of this generation. It's not everybody's cup of tea, but it is great if you're looking for this sort of experience.
Exactly. Elder Scrolls and Fallout are absolutely top-notch SP games, with a gigantic amount of content on top of great replayability. These are the kinds of games I play if I want an immersive solo experience that I can lose myself in for a couple of months. If I want to play co-op or frag somebody, I can pop in a bunch of other games.
Good for Bethesda for doing one thing right instead of adding a multiplayer mode and doing two things half-assed.
Yeah, part of what the guy was complaining about is that you crash a lot. Anybody who has ever played more than 10 minutes of any Motorstorm title should have expected as much. This is like criticizing Bad Company because you died too often.
Agreed. RE5 was bad enough; now they're turning into just another shooter.

So I take it this reviewer DIDN'T like the game, eh?
The open beta was really bad marketing for this game, as it was plagued by connection/server problems. The retail version got off to a very rocky start too. It's quite a bit better now (map rotation is still broken a month after launch though), but game developers need to realize that poorly-supported betas and demos can hurt sales.
I beat RE4 on the PS2 at least 20 times. Probably more. Damn right I'm getting it for trophies. I earned them.
Bioshock is one of the easiest platinums of all times, IMO, except maybe fore Assassin's Creed 2.
1. Gears
2. Gears beta
Seems like a pretty reasonable review to me.
The SP campaign really does have a weak and abrupt ending. (It also has way too many stealth and on-rails sequences, which bugged me even if it didn't bug this particular reviewer).
The multiplayer is fun, but the reviewer is right that they took out some of the key features that made Killzone 2 cool (spawning on your squad leader, proximity chat, spawn grenades). Also some of the maps are poorly though...
I doubt there's any way they can change the "concept" behind the game. That would require re-doing the entire project more or less from scratch (with the same engine, obviously).
Probably just a one-month or so delay to let the disaster in Japan recede from memory a little. Yes, people will still remember, but it won't be a raw nerve like it is for some now.
Ouch. I was looking forward to this game. Hope it's not delayed too long.
I don't quite understand why they're delaying this game in countries that were unaffected by the earthquake.
The main thing for me is that it arrives on time in the US.
1) Guerilla Games is a Dutch company, not an American company. Sony isn't an American company either.
2) I don't know of a single PS3 other than Bioshock that uses R2 for shooting. Every single other game I've ever played has used R1.
Sadly, this was not unexpected, though. The open beta was terrible and the retail version launched with a lot of the same problems, leading to horrible word-of-mouth.
It's been over three weeks since launch, and the maps STILL don't rotate correctly, for crying out loud.
Hopefully Sony will learn from this and not release half-finished exclusives.
I've never understood why people care about mandatory installs. I sure don't.
Lots of hype, very little substance. I'm guessing this is going to end up being a stinker.
