He may only have one bubble, but he's right. Demon's Souls is hard, but it's nowhere near as hard as most people make it out to be. If you're patient and attentive you can make it through most levels after two or three tries.
And most of the bosses are super-easy to beat if you're equipped appropriately. Fools Idol? Just stand behind a column and lob arrows at her. Leechmonger and Dirty Collosus? Firestormlol. Tower Knight? Soul Ray from the up...
They should have called the platinum trophy "So you finally got that pure bladestone, huh?"
Online passes don't bother me in the slightest. Games that are built around online play like Battlefield (and CoD and KZ etc.) provide hundreds of hours of gameplay. I have no problem with developers "encouraging" you to buy the game new, or at least to chip in for an online pass to cover the cost of keeping the servers up and running.
That part jumped out at me too. He's lying of course, but hey at least he got some hits. Good for him.
Looking foward to this. Dead Nation was all kinds of fun.
Killzone 3 was the most disappointing game of this generation for me personally. KZ2 was awesome, and then they followed it up with a real turd.
Just preordered this on Amazon this morning, and I'll probably do another playthrough of Demons Souls in the next couple of weeks to get back into the swing of things.
5.6 out of 100 is pretty low, no?
Agreed. Online passes don't have anything to do with "free PSN." These are just a way for developers to recoup some revenue from the used game market. Those of us who are buying our games new still aren't paying a penny for online play.
I haven't seen MW3 or BF3 yet, so I can't comment on those. I have seen both Black Ops and BC2 though.
At least to my eyes, there's no question that Black Ops is "smoother" at 60 fps compared to BC2. On the other hand, everything else about Black Ops looks like ass. The textures are poor, the character models are poor, and overall the game just looks like something that came out five years ago.
BC2 has a lower frame rate, but ...
I've logged a little over 200 hours in BC2 on the PS3, and I don't think I've ever noticed any screen tearing.
Same here. BC2 looks great on the PS3 and I'm sure BF3 will look great too.
"the better version of COD"
lol
What part of "price gouging" did you not get?
Agreed. This gen has had some really good DLC (RDR Undead Nightmare, for example), but for every piece of "good" DLC out there, you can find two or three more examples of DLC that actually just unlock stuff that was already the disc, horse armor, cheat packs like those in Dead Space, etc.
Dead Nation almost made up for the PSN outage all by itself. Great game. Buying the DLC seems like the least I can do to support the developers.
3/10? Ouch. That's harsh, even for Edge.
Agreed.
Personally, I hate CoD. I've tried to like it, and I understand why so many people enjoy it, but the gameplay is almost the exact opposite of what I'm looking for in a FPS. Like you said, though, that's just me, and I know there are millions of people out there who don't share my preferences.
And that's why competition is good. People who like fast-paced, sort of arcade-y gameplay have CoD. People like me, who prefer som...
I still want Demon's Souls DLC to unlock the broken archstone. :(
I can't believe how much I'm looking forward to RE4. Haven't played that game in years.
