yeh, slots straight into the bottom of the bin
@truechains
the joke isnt on me, actually. i bought mario kart 8 practically on release day. that was well before the NX was even announced.
nobody could have foreseen the successor to wiiu coming so soon. it leaves late adopters like me in a predicament- do i buy a wiiu or wait until NX? assuming the NX is backwards compatible makes the decision easy- just buy wiiu games and play them on the NX.practically all nintendo consoles in the last decade have been B...
i didnt realise the extent to which the market has declined in japan
1- nintendo need to listen to gamers, give us what we want instead of instalments to franchises nobody in the world cares about. give us f zero, not wario ware. metroid, not mario party.
2- the console needs to be cutting edge in order to play the technically taxing games of today
3- the console needs strong 3rd party support in order to give the console a wide variety of games. nintendo cant rely on its 1st and 2nd party support to create a satisfactory libr...
obviously backwards compatibility is out the window now though...
thats bad news because i have yet to buy a wiiu, but was buying wiiu games. with the knowledge that nx is just around the corner, i was hoping it would be B/C so i didnt have throw over one hundred pounds down the drain on a useless wiiu.
its ironic that the wiiu might actually be the last nintendo console i ever buy.
wow, i thought they would have sold a lot more than that by now.
@jholden3249
yes, another gimmick. lets be clear, the wii only came in that form because nintendo knew they couldnt compete, they had to market a product to the niche, instead of trying to win gamers attention away from microsoft/sony. and yes, it paid off, nintendo attracted a massive untapped audience. but lets not sugar coat it, the wii was a console with a gimmick as its main selling point. only difference between then and now, is people genuinely wanted something diffe...
backwards compatibility is out the window then.
i think its going to be another silly, gimmicky console
i didnt like the idea of this game at first, i thought it was giving mario away, but now i think it will be one of the most important game of this gen. not just for the wiiu, but also consoles in general during this time.
i did lol
i also already own mario kart 8 and the beyonetta 1 and 2 collection
i will also pre order xenoblade x and fatal frame..
that doesnt change the facts though. i will resent spending over £100 for a wiiu to play those games
nintendo are too greedy to do that.
its a £80 console. even 80 is steep for a glorified door stop
i know nothing about share play. its the very first time i have ever heard of it. i just googled it, and it sounds like a great idea. i dont see what is gimmicky about it.
i know nintendo incorporate help features in their games, such as a little video demonstration of how to complete a section in the level you are plying... that is just a pre-programmed, automated version of share play. ie, the human aspect removed.
but the fact that gamers dont want gimmick...
i agree, the ps4 and x1 are establishing huge user bases and market shares, which will only cement between now and the time NX arrives.
the only way i think the NX can survive is not by directly competing, but offering an alternative experience. the niche market... gimmicks.
i know people will disagree, but from a marketing perspective, its the only way it will ever get peoples attention- by offering something different. i think nintendo have backed themsel...
NICE!
cancelled my amazon pre order and re-ordered at game.
thanks a lot
its one of the best games on the wii. definitely in my top 5
its shamelessly rips off wipeout.
he could wear armbands, there is no excuse
funny old bastard
yeah, me too. looks like the wiiu will have a great end to the year with this and xenoblade x :D
nintendo do know what they are doing, its just not what the majority of consumers want.
the future looks to be digital, and inevitably all consoles will lose their physical medium, so nintendo are being forward thinking with the NX. they clearly know what they are doing. but whether consumers want that now, is a different story.
also, i think sony or microsoft would be more likely to launch a successful digital only console, because they have invested in and ...
