i think its the end of road for the purpose built console, as such. and an attempt by nintendo to make a true hybrid between console/handheld.
wiiu was a half-attempt in bridging that gap. i think the NX will go all the way.
maybe they will do away with the 3ds too. i mean, from a practical point of view, it must be a nightmare for nintendo to produce games and get support for two systems, handheld and console.. if they have one unified system, they can focus...
i wonder if nintendo will ever learn? they need to stop trying to re-invent the wheel. we dont want something unique or different, we want a traditional console. just more powerful..
and i can make that statement with confidence because the sales prove me right. if people wanted something unique or different they would have bought wiiu but they didnt. instead they bought ps4 and X1.

there was speculation that nintendo would do a HD remake series of games on the wiiu after wind waker hd... it never materialised.
if they had taken that route, they would probably be in a better position. i wouldnt mind a hd remake of f-zero X, mario sunshine etc at least it would have filled up the barren release schedule.

what many people dont realise about this game, is that the wiiu is also rendering the entire universe and all its contents in real time, from a atomic nucleus level all the way to giant super galaxies and the universe itself.
people take for granted that what you see on the screen is only a little snippet of what the wiiu is processing- all in real time. so while you are running around on the map, the wiiu is also rendering earth, all its inhabitants, every grain of sand, eve...

i am a long time nintendo fan, having owned every major console of theirs since the NES. the wiiu is the only console i havent bought.
i do plan on buying a wiiu, for the sole purpose of playing xenoblade x, since xenoblade on the wii actually restored my faith in gaming.
i have been buying wiiu games in order to make buying the wiiu not a complete loss.
BUT, had i not been a nintendo fan, i would never contemplate buying a wiiu.

marketing has been nintendo's week point for many years now. they are historically poor when it comes to advertising. its a running joke.
nintendo seem to expect the public to just know when a game hits the shelves. sure, you see the odd advert here and there for DS games on tv, but what about the billboard ads on the street? what about the sides of busses?
ALL the major films and games use these type of advertising, i can honestly say i have never seen...

lol they obviously wouldnt be able to work right up to release date. the game would have to be finished long before then. even though its coming out in april, i imagine it will be finished by February, or march at the very latest. it will be going in to print and distribution/shipping etc
its not a massive difference, especially going by the comparison video, but if you watch the nintendo direct trailer, it is noticeably better. i noticed right away. its approaching how i expected a starfox game this gen to look.
