i haven't played the wii online yet.. mario kart will be my very first online gaming experience. i think the online service they provide (wii shop/vurtual console etc..) is very good. no complaints.
so so sad. what is the world coming to
The amount of blu ray v hd dvd stories (and interest in the stories) is proof that people do want a single format. Having a single format doesn't force you to make a choice you could potentially regret in the future. so why are people in denial regarding the video games war?
Three consoles is just as(if not even more) unacceptable as two next generation dvd disc formats.
To buy all three console would cost you over £700. Add games(etc)to that price and your looking at a sarcastic amount of money just to play a game you like.
gamers can't realistically just 'try other consoles'. A ps3 is £300 a try (with no game and no hdmi cable). once you have that console you are limited to the games on that console. same goes for 360 and wii.
whatever way you look at it, the gamer will always miss out due to exclusive games on other consoles. A true true gamer would own all three consoles.. but that is rediculous.
The average gamer is being screwed over.
...and in my books, three consoles is a problem. so the war is far from over
i dont understand why some people always use the arguement that the ps3 and 360 are hardcore whilst the wii is simply a toy.
as far as i can see, being hardcore seems to be mostly cosmetic (graphics/polygon counts/high-resolutions.)
it should be about weather the game is fun or not
resident evil 4 was being advertised. i saw the advert many times on channel 4. i have yet to see a zack and wiki advert. if they don't promote the game, they should expect it to fail.
...and a quick replacement of wii by a wii 2? the guy must be insane. some people under-estimate the wii so much.
alex the kidd, the one that was built into the master system
third parties only have their self to blame, for example, i might get zack and wiki but i haven't seen it advertised. people aren't telepathic how are they supposed to know the game even exists? the only people who would know about the game are those who buy magazines or look at games websites etc.. if a company doesn't advertise their own product it says a lot.
(A) my favorite film on a disc in a case with the booklets, artwork etc..
or
(B) my favorite film as digital data on my hard drive
i would definitely choose option A
i dont think we are winning. the gamers are being screwed over.
the blu-ray v hd dvd war is a big deal because there needs to be a single format. the consumer won't tolerate two formats. its rediculous to be expected to buy two disc players or choose one over the other.
so why is it ok to be expected to buy two or even three video games consoles? until there is a single format the gamer will always lose. the games industry is a mess
i think a lot of people are in denial about the wiis success. its not 1998, the playstation isn't on top any more. the wii is number one whether you like it or not.
the wii has won.
im not buying this game.. it reminds me of chu chu rocket on the dreamcast- it should be free. it looks lazy
i think this news is good for existing 360 users but i doubt it will increase sales. what about games?
i would interpret what iwata said as meaning in this generation there is too much focus on graphics and story to the point of taking away from the gaming experience.
if you want photo realism and an emotionally moving story, watch a film.
mario galaxy wasn't designed to make you cry or be a realistic simulation of life, its a fun game designed to entertain the player.
"This is going to hurt in 2008 as the other folks bring their prices in line with the market."
does that mean i'll be able to get a ps3 for £179?
its funny how even when the wii is the obvious winner of this generation (so far,) people try to take credit away from nintendo and call them a failure. people say (and probably wish) that the wii will die a miserable death this year, just like they said and thought last year... the wii is a winner not a failure
does this news matter to anybody other than fanboys? all it is, is a bundle. it's not like a person isn't capable of picking up the two products separately and buying them together. all this hysteria over a branded box...
