That's just how a lot of the industry is these days. They go where the money is, and pc gaming is dying. Capcom shut down clover, and companies make tons of gamecube to wii ports and there is a lot of shovelware out there, licensed games usually suck but sell well, Square Enix moved Dragon Quest to the DS.... and don't even get me started on EA.
Yeah, that's exactly what I've been saying. I get a feeling half the people complaining haven't actually played the game.
I just don't see any bad in it coming to the ps3. None whatsoever. More AAA titles? Sounds good to me. Plus, the port may not end up crappy, you never know.
Why is everyone ragging on Valve? They have their differences with the ps3, but still are letting their games get ported over anyway, letting as many gamers as possible play their games. And by the way... their games are really good. I don't know why everyone is so ticked about the port, it wasn't really that bad, I don't play TF, but Portal and Half Life were just fine, and I loved 'em. Long load times, but that's my only issue. Not to mention that its getting fixed. I'd far rather get good...
Did you even play the game? I don't know about Team Fortress(I don't play online so I never touched it), but I didn't even notice any problems in half-life and portal, besides slightly longer than normal loading times. I only gave it a rental, but playing Portal and Half-life 2 with minor glitches is way better than not playing it at all. Those games are sweet! Not to mention that the game IS GETTING FIXED by the end of March anyway. Valve is just stubbon, by the end of 2008, they'll change ...
Since there hasn't been any official release date change from capcom, this will have to do:

The producer of the game ought to know better than PSU.
Nothing but gameplay? Maybe we're not watching the same trailers. Sure, they use what appear to be in-game graphics, but to say its mostly gameplay is kidding yourself. In the E3 trailer, the majority of it appears to be the intro for the game, and there are maybe 10 seconds of Chris firing at zombies, and possibly 10 seconds of him walking through doors. It looks crisp, but based on what we've got, that isn't exactly any indication that the game is near completion.
Edit : Oh, that wasn't sarcasm. Missed that at first.

2009. I figure the word of the producer is better than PSU.
Very doubtful. Capcom tends to show a lot of their games during development, and I don't remember seeing any gameplay yet, and if there was, it was a trailer with only a few shots of gameplay.
I'm calling this one a rumor. It'll be going head to head with God of War 3 and all the big titles of 2009.
Most people don't like spending two grand on arcade machines to put in their bedrooms.
I think my heading may have made my point unclear: Capcom will do whatever the heck they want for a profit. I gave multiple examples of this and can think of multiple more. Remember Clover?
But anyway, I could of sworn Capcom canceled the DR port didn't they? Why make a LP port and not a DR one? It just seems like it doesn't make sense.
I completely understand the perspective that Capcom wants to make more money, but they're starting to seem very unreasonable about it.
Let's look at what they've done:
1. canceled the Dead Rising ps3 port, but for some reason made a Lost Planet port, which is far less likely to sell, with a ridiculous 20 minute/ 5 gig installation for a year old game.
2. Cut two years of Monster Hunter PS3 development and moved it to the Wii
3. They put DMC 4 on the 360, a...
Fairly good list, I'll give it as many as 7 out of 10 (Far Cry and Battlefield are both just more of the kind of shooter we've seen wayy too much of, and there are too many good actual games coming to put home on the list). White Knight Story, Socom, Infamous, Afrika, The 2008 Team Ico Project and a couple of others missed the list, but we havent really heard or seen a whole lot of them. I'm surprised Devil May Cry didn't get an honorable mention, and that Fallout got beat out of the top 10 b...
I dunno. Haze definitely makes my top 5 for this year. Free Radical has yet to steer me wrong. The timesplitters series is incredible, and the fastest pace fps series out there, faster than Unreal. The founding members of FR were part of the team who made Goldeneye and Perfect Dark on the 64 afterall.
If they want to cut out voice chat, fine, it will prevent some words from going to virgin ears. But text chat? You've got to be kidding me. I've seen swear filters implemented before, and there's no reason why Nintendo can't just put in filtered text chat. I understand that there are problems when crazy older people talk to unsupervised kids online, but there are problems when crazy older people talk to unsupervised kids offline too. When are we going to start blaming the parents instead of t...
Besides slightly longer than normal loading times and a small framerate glitch now and then, I've had no trouble with Orange Box on my ps3. I have yet to play Team Fortress, but the other four have shown me no problems.
I don't think M$ should be looking that far ahead yet. Gamers know Microsoft's last console was a 4 year machine, and considering they've had major hardware issues with both the 360 and original, I know they need BIG games to sell a new system. Valve, Bungie, and Epic need to be involved to get it off the ground for sure, pretty funny considering none of those are first-party, but have been their backbone so far. But the main thing to note is that consoles don't really start selling until the...
Save the babes, kill the aliens... Save the cheerleeder...hmmm....
The plot still works. I'd still buy it... but it has to be good at what it does. If the game sucks after all this time, it'll fall hard. If it is solid, it will sell. Will it sell enough to recoup the massive costs of 15 years of development? Doubtful.
I bit the bullet and avoided the 360 altogether. I really wanted to get it instead of a ps3, but I have bad luck with electronics, and I figured mine would RROD almost immediately. Its not like there aren't a lot of good ps3 games out there. I admit that there are more good games on the 360, but I'll catch up on those games on the pc later on anyway. Mass Effect, Bioshock, Gears, and very likely Halo 3 will end up there in a few years if they're not there already. I should've skipped the fir...
