You misunderstand this news post. Ever generation there are winners (ps1, ps2, snes) and losers (dreamcast, genesis). PSP happens to be the best selling "loser". It basically means that its getting beaten by the DS, but it sold better than any console that DIDNT win.
When a company has the mana series, tactics ogre, chrono, etc etc... It seems like a shame that they rehash the same two series and make cheap cashcow phone and ds games and remakes.
So a game we had no idea was being in production is currently at 90% done? Makes me excited for the Sony E3 keynote.
It'll be good to have the chance to try it out, sure, but, if you have 7 months of delays which have killed a lot of the interest and hype in the game, don't you think you should focus on getting the actual game out before you bother with demos? Being wedged between GTA and MGS certainly won't help. I bought a ps3 for Free Radical, and I feel a bit let down considering that I'll be a day one purchase and they are catering to the people who are on the fence.
Just wondering...How...
I was under the impression this game is only 2 players offline. I don't know if you noticed, but it says nowhere in that news article that its 4 players offline co-op, rather there is 4 player online co-op.
Microsoft really dropped the ball with RROD. 360's were selling like hotcakes until all its hardware problems starting popping up, and now it seems like people outside of the United States are avoiding it like the plague.
How do you have save yourself after major hardware problems two generations in a row?
I don't qualify. Why on earth would I not qualify?
Three years later, that'll be ME. Or, I'll just get some other crummy programming job, but either way, that's big money.
It sounds like they're really counting on Alone in the Dark to do well. I sure hope they start putting more content and hype out there, because quite frankly, it sounds like its getting lost between gta, mario kart, and metal gear solid.
Hey CViper, the correct word you were looking for was the contraction "it's". The word "its" is used to show possesion.
Seriously, don't be a grammar nazi and then make mistakes yourself.
FF7 would be pretty cool. Didnt they say that when the store re-opens, it would have the warhawk expansion and GT5:P in it?
I had copies Valkyrie Profile, FF7, Tactics Ogre, Suikoden 2 and Lunar:SSSC. I made a killing off them. Good thing playstation games work on emulator now!
When is Valkyrie Wilde coming out again?
10 months... sounds like they're not even working on it yet, considering their short development cycle. So, Bone doesn't count as their "First Original Game" eh? Its true that they need to come up something new though. Not to say I don't like Sam and Max, I'm just afraid it may start slow down eventually because its so hard to keep up with all the episodes coming out every month.
If they give you extra stuff, that's an entirely different situations, and pre-ordering a console is an absolute must these days, but otherwise there is absolutely no reason to.
I remember the last time I pre-ordered a game, and quite frankly, it was a miserable experience. They didn't call my house, and when I went that day they didn't even have a copy for me, although they had it the following day, and they had it next door at walmart. All it does is stick you to a particular retail...
Its getting bad reviews for the same reason as heavenly sword and warhawk. Its not the full experience that critics were looking for. When the real game comes out, that's when they'll start giving it 90s and 100s.
I could have sworn it was on the 15th?
Tell that to Take-two, slimeballs. Seriously, you can't say things like that less than a month after hostile take-over attempts.
Edit: I should probably read the article first next time, d'oh! although its pretty clear that Take-Two DOESNT want anything to do with EA, atleast until GTA has launched.
the ps3 is not dead in japan. It just doesnt have any big games that cater to the japanese audience yet. Metal Gear, FF13, White Knight Story, etc will sell more consoles than Resistance or Uncharted, because those are really western-centered games. Wait till the big japanese games come out, and see the difference. The biggest selling game in japan was... what, Dynasty Warriors Gundam? That's sad if you think about it.
The shame of this isn't that the ps3 isn't the lead platform... the shame is that the PC isn't the lead platform. Fallout simply is a PC series, that's where its origins are. Its not that consoles shouldnt get the game, because they should ( and I'll buy one of the console versions, because I don't have a quality pc right now) but the game should definitely have had the PC as lead platform. They can't use an excuse like "we've had 360 hardware information longer".
