Technically it was September not late 2007, and since we've heard very little about a release date, it doesn't look like its going to come out in spring, especially since we haven't heard anything about an open beta. Even September to May is still an eight month delay.
I'm really pysched about it, I just hope it comes out sooner rather than later, the wait is killing me.
Otacon! don't read if you haven't played the games, but think about it...
1. He's nowhere as badass as solid snake, but has to deal with all the same conflicts
2. His infatuation, Sniper Wolf, gets killed in mgs1
3. His stepsister is killed in mgs2, who he also had an infatuation with
4. The last action he's seen, as far as we know, is with his messed up stepmom, who his involvement with drove his father to suicide.
5. He's nerdy
If the ps3 was loveless in March, then its not getting a major release every month, now is it :-p
And so this april, the ps3 starts to get a major release every month from now on.
I feel like this game is just a tease before Timesplitters 4. they haven't mentioned it, but I think they've been having trouble programming for the ps3, and that's part of the reason why there have been so many delays.
On the other hand, I've heard that it was ubisoft that delayed the game, not FR, because they made a huge profit over the last financial year, and wanted it to be better, and make profits for the new year.
Does anyone know if they have bots in thi...
Yeah, I thought that too.
They said " Crystal Chronicles arguable the best ff spinoff"
Clearly they overlooked Tactics. Tactics is a realllly good game, I personally like it more than a lot of the non-spinoffs myself, and I know that opinion is shared.
No orange box? I thought it was definitely top 5 material, but I guess not.
MGS2 was one of the big games that pushed the ps2 over the edge. in the end, it sold 7-8 million copies, which is only a million or so under halo. 87% of the sales of Halo WITHOUT a multi-million dollar advertising campaign. Sounds pretty big to me. So, if great reviews, great sales, and a huge fanbase don't make a game series big... what does?
Sure, its not going to sell like gta, and sure the bundle was probably part of the deal to keep the game exclusive (especially conside...
I'm surprised they don't mention how a certain MMORPG *ahem* has killed the sales of other games, and how Microsoft redirected a lot of their pc support to the xbox. On the other hand, Steam and Gametap seem like things that could revive the industry, but are often overlooked
Its just that its such a hardcore kind of game. I'm not exactly a casual gamer, and its still frustrating. It will attract its usual fans, but I don't see a lot of people buying a console for it-- ps3 sales numbers barely changed after Sigma, so I don't expect huge sales to result from it. Despite being re-released twice, Ninja Gaiden 1 has yet to break 2 million sold, and I don't think anyone is expecting the sequel to come anywhere near the sales of MGS4, which is going to be bundled with t...
As a MGS Fan, the reason why I didn't hold onto Snake Eater was that it just wasn't the same game. Big Boss didn't feel like Snake, despite the cloneliness. The forest thing took away from my favorite parts of the game : the cardboard box/magazines, sneaking, ect. Some of the gameplay, ie eating bugs, felt more like a gimmick than anything. MGS 4 goes back to Solid's roots with all the characters we remember, and from everything we've seen, everyone knows its going to be much beyond the last ...
To be fair, MGS 1 only sold 6 million, and MGS2 7, while MGS3 flopped in comparison with around 4. Halo 2 only sold around 8 million! That's fairly close! The attach rate for halo is much higher, but then again, the ps2 was saturated with a lot more titles, many good, many bad.
It seems like there are just so many winners this year. Call of Duty 5, Killzone, Resistance, Super Smash Brothers, Gran Turismo and a select few other games may be top 10 worthy, but its tough to really decide. The list is very good, and it would be hard to get rid of any of them. If I had to part with any, it'd be ninja gaiden-- only because its a more hardcore game and a lot like myself don't like the difficulty-- and Fallout because the trademark has changed hands, and may have lost its ...
Oops, I missed that this is from Australia!
You're right about that. The thing about strategy/ rts games is that there is always a lot going on, and your computer/console needs to keep track of EVERYTHING, and the game doesn't load as you go, it just keeps everything in memory. Strategy rpgs aren't quite as immense though, because they're on a much smaller scale than games like Civilizations.
There are some reasonable games on the list but... some of the titles were released in 2007, some aren't going to be released until 2009. Games like Echochrome, Noby Noby boy ( from the creator of katamari) and disgaea werent even mentioned.
I don't think its the matter of being lazy, more being deceitful. The small rpg developers like NI and Atlus have gotten the shaft with next-gen because they just don't have the same kind of resources Square or MS-backed Mistwalker or the like have. They've developed mostly on gameplay and not about graphics. I don't know if their games sell so poorly because of the graphics, or that they can't afford to make games with good graphics, but their games are usually pretty solid. Maybe they just ...
If you were here, you could probably gather BG-fanboy drool by the gallons. Too bad its only DA.
Seriously though, I can't wait to see if they can get it going again.
I was really hoping for a split-screen patch. We all know the 360 version is going to have it, and its been 3 months already, so why is it not here? The game would've sold much better with it.
