Its definitely just you. If a game is worth less than ten dollars, they give you one dollar or less, and usually 20-30% of their sale value for anything else.
Wasn't LAST year the year of gaming? So far, the games coming out don't impress me much, but then again I'm a rpg fan nostalgic for the ps1 era, and it seems like all the big games are shooters. LBP, Spore, Starcraft 2 and MGS4 interest me, but I wouldn't say this year will be the year when gaming really breaks out.
I didn't think the wiimote worked at close ranges? Or maybe the one sitting in our common room is defective?
Yeah, but UT for the ps3 was pretty lacking. They rushed it out with a pitiful single-player mode, with crummy enemy AI and no multiplayer. The gameplay is fast, steady and incredible, but it was pushed under the carpet with a mysterious December release, and it really isnt worth a purchase for non-online players. It wouldnt be so bad, but I had a lot of trouble connecting online, so it really destroyed the game for me.
The thing is... Gears of War 2 attracts the same audience, the same kind of attention as Gears of War 1. What this guy is pointing out is that a sequel to a game that is still fresh in everyone's minds as a GREAT game needs to innovate in order to stand out, and perhaps do new things in order to grab the people still on the fance.
Mass Effect, Bioshock and Last Remnant all want a word with you.
@Breakfast
Yes and no. Halo isn't the best example because the game has been hyped to hell, and all the money going into advertising and all those calling Halo THE 360 game.
The Wii really exemplifies this idea though. Smash Brothers's graphics has nothing on Uncharted, but Smash will sell millions more.
Epic just cut the price of UT3 for the ps3 and pc down to 40 dollars yesterday.
Based on the trailer, the game still looks dark, and the fighting animations still seem brutal. Maybe there is still hope for our gore and fatalities?
Edit: Oh... a teen rating? That's.... that's just not right.
Where does it mention anywhere about characters that are confirmed? I guess Batman and Sub-zero, but weren't they in the trailer, and pretty much a given anyway?
Edit: And Scorpion and Superman. Still pretty obvious.
Well Halo 3 had 16 Million Xbox Consoles to work with. GTA has 20 Million Xbox consoles and 12 million Xbox consoles, about double that.
I get a feeling it'll probably do well, but its tough to beat a 300 million dollar launch. 1 out of every 5 xbox or ps3 owners need to buy the game, although many people will buy a console FOR the game, so you never know.
It seems somewhat like the tone and feel of fallout 3. Maybe they're just biding their time?
Unreal Tournament for the PS2, Unreal Championship 1 and 2, and Gears of War all had it. there is no reason to think there WOULDNT be split-screen.
I rarely make predictions, but I SAID, downright, that this was going to happen, and it did. I was really hoping for a 4-player split-screen when this game first launched, because that's what I like, multiplayer split-screen. The gameplay of UT3 is downright incredible and the graphics are gorgeous, but in all honesty there is nothing to this game but online. 5 gameplay modes, crummy AI for Warfare, and no splitscreen? I'm not bashing the game, its multiplayer is topnotch, but no one can deny...
I certainly hope Street fighter, and Phantasy Star are on that list.
ET is on the top five of ATARI?! Wow, that's crazy.
Well, one thing that people seem to be overlooking in all this is Nintendo and Microsoft have already used most of their big guns. Sony so far has released only new IPs, and what, one (two if you count GT:P) of their old franchises.
I'm not saying that Halo Wars or the next Zelda won't be great games, they will be, but you're going to attact the same audience with Zelda:TP as you will with the next Zelda.
Not that Banjo Kazooie or Wii Fit won't draw a wider audience, I'm just sa...
Its interesting that instead of going with another fighting game he went to DC. It doesn't sound like they tried very hard, but I guess it makes it easier integrating different characters, and they wouldn't need to merge with another developing studio for the project.
That has nothing to do with the topic.
Agreed. Why waste the money for so little good practicality, I have no idea.
