Although, who didn't get a laugh out of "Palin is a milf" or "Tekken is not as technical or serious a fighter as DOA"
The guy is wondering why no one is playing it? Well, I did for a while, but the four levels, and four guns just didn't cut it for me. Seriously, there is so much good stuff in MGS4, and MGO is really lacking. People don't mind buying map packs or more guns if they are satisfied with a game's online system, but what you get for free is a very incomplete online experience.
Early price-cut rumors--> Company denies it immediately in order to prevent people from just waiting a week to purchase the hardware.
Expect it in October, probably around TGS time. I'd bet my life savings on a LBP bundle.
But... then what? Besides wishful thinking that IU/SO4/ ToV are only timed exclusives, what else is coming within the next decade? FF13 and FF13V are hugely anticipated in Japan, sure, sure, but who knows if they'll stay exclusive, and for all we know, they haven't even started working on the gameplay yet. Name one other traditional jrpg exclusive that we've actually seen gameplay screenshots for, and I'll be happy, but really, Sony messed up big on rpgs this generation. TGS, please please pr...
@JSA
What are you talking about? Fallout 3 is most people's pick for game of the year, and Fable, while good, doesn't seem like its going to be extremely groundbreaking. So, if you can only choose between GOTY and not, what would you pick?
And I've only got a ps3, but he has his point. the 360 has a really strong rpg lineup right now(pretty much everything tri-ace makes, MistWalker's stuff, Tales, etc). Its the Ps3 that is seriously lacking rpgs, the 360 has plenty, especially considering its audience. If FF13/VS gets published in Japan on 360, that would pretty much let the 360 dominate the ps3 in the genre completely.
looking at released/upcoming the list is pretty comparable. MS wins out on rpgs easily, and has a bit of an edge on fps titles, but besides that, I would say Sony has a stronger lineup.
Gears/Halo vs (Killzone) and Resistance and Socom
(Splinter Cell) vs MGS
Forza/PGR vs Gran turismo, motorstorm
Viva Pinata and (Banjo) vs. Ratchet and Afrika and LBP
Too human and Ninja Gaiden vs. (God of War)/(Infamous)
LO/BD/Tales/Fable/IU/(S04) vs. (WKC)/Dis...
I don't know. It really looked like things were shaping up when blu-ray won, but Sony really hasn't been delivering much lately. What was the last decent (and full-sized) first-party game released? We'll see LBP, R2, and Socom from them this fall, but besides that, not much. Home seems like its never getting here, trophy support has been dismal so far, they lost FF13 exclusivity, the unthinkable happened and a fps from Free Radical bombed (seriously, its like the first time ever) no pricecuts...
They're making infamous now, and will do Sly Cooper after? Is anyone surprised by this?
I feel like the real problem is that Sony has confused the hell out of consumers with all the various models, and the absolutely worst part is not a single one is better than the 60 gb that they started with. People want backwards compatibility, and whenever they release a new BC model, it sells like crazy, and Sony doesn't seem to notice. How much money does SOFTWARE emulation cost anyway? Its not like they're paying for the EE chip anymore, I don't get why they can't just include it with al...
1. Bandwidth restrictions
2. Internet speeds
3. Wayyyy too small harddrives
4. Quality concerns
5. International availability
6. Need for physical media
Its coming, and hell, it might come before the ps3's ten year plan is up, but its not coming tomorrow. Nope.
I'm surprised this game hasn't gotten more attention, especially considering all the Planet Earth buzz that's been going around (That croc jumping up for his quick meal is very similar to something from PE).
Sony dropped the ball marketing this game. It could have done much better, I think. I know its a casual game and all, but it still looks like an incredible game. Hopefully it will do better in the states?
Considering how long its been since we've heard anything about RROD, its nice to hear a fresh approach to the miserable situation.
He said he wasn't going to train again till 2009. So once the Phelps buzz dies out, in like November, he'll probably have some time to himself.
Its just advertising. He'll probably get an early copy once it goes gold, but the game isn't finished yet, so why let a legend like him settle for something less?
Just about anything from Team Ico would probably make my legs go numb.
You might have missed this.
"Original Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory isn't working on a sequel to Heavenly sword, but that doesn't stop Sony farming out the IP to another studio"
I've been saying it for a while, but the ps2 is crucial for Sony to "win the war against the Wii", so to speak. So far, we've heard all these rumors and speculation about motion control from Sony, but what if its not actually meant for the ps3 but for the ps2?
3rd party wii "exclusives" have been pretty much just cashcows. Give the ps2 motion controls and 3rd party developers working on those motion control games will make them for the ps2 also, because chea...
Dear Konami:
This mmorpg thing is a bad idea.
Sincerely,
Every fan of the incredible Suikoden series.
@LarV
Uh,yeah right. I'm as big a sony fan as anyone, but name one other exclusive rpg due out before 2010. Considering how far in advance we hear about sony's games, if there were more coming any time soon, we'd know by now.
