I can control myself. I didn't buy Resistance 3, and I'm not going to buy Uncharted 3 until they are $30 or less. I wouldn't have bought Rage or Batman Arkham City either but I preordered one at $40 from new Egg w/ credit, and the other on Onlive for $35 + another free game BEFORE the Catwoman pass was announced. Okay. So I'm over by $10 on Rage.
The only one I'm really guilty of bending over for while KNOWING what was up ahead of time is Saint's Row ...
So gamers should buy the games that they don't want but that critics liked to save gaming?
WTF?
I think STUPIDITY and greed is killing gaming. The stupidity is what allows publishers, devs, and retailers to forget that they are a customer oriented business and that making their product less convenient to use and more expensive is a road to suicide for the industry.
Except gaming isn't really dying. Yet.
Yeah the latest PC GPU tech is literally five or six years ahead of consoles that came out five or six years ago. That is a very deep insight. Sheesh.
Right now £40 is about $63.75
You SHOULD respect that reaction because it is entirely correct and you are absolutely wrong.
Yup. All the doofuses who came here to hate on Rage have made utter fools of themselves. What a bunch of dumb suckers. They'll believe anything and almost none of them have actually even played the game or they'd realize how stupid their accusations sound. They see a glitched texture load on Youtube from a bad ATI driver, and pretend that the game is totally unplayable. Morons.
It flopped? LOL! It sold 500,000 in a week on the 360 alone which is more than Resistance 3...
But RTS games DO exist on consoles. Warhammer Battlemarch, LOTR: Battle For Middle Earth 2, Halo Wars, Command and Conquer 3, Supreme Commander, Ruse, Endwar, Red Alert 3...
Arguably the earliest RTS game, Herzog Zwei, was a Sega Genesis game.
And Monday Night Combat is pretty much a shooter version of DOTA and it debuted on consoles.
" Reach engine is modified Halo 2 engine btw, Cryengine 3 shits all over it."
And by that measure, Cryengine 3 is a modified Cryengine as is Dhunia. So the hell what?
Reach is highly modified halo 3 engine that is a highly modified Halo 2 engine. That's how engines generally progress. Halo 4 will likely have a highly modified Reach engine with new features and performance.
And it shits all over Reach how exactly? I could see me...
Sounds like Killzone 3 only three times as long.
Yeah I kind of felt like GTA IV only scratched the surface too. Do more than scratch the surface on GTA V okay ? Don't let a disappointment become a slump. Red Dead Redemption was pretty good.
I pre-ordered the PC version. I Gotta wait a month. :(
"it's still pretty darn good " = 3/5 ? WTF?
Just be glad that they got rid of the stupid VTOL crap at the end in the console version. That was lame. Just five long minutes of fighting Squids in a copter thing with bad controls.
This is Gamasutra, Whitelightning. It's a real news source covering the video game industry that does market analysis articles. It's not some weedy PS3 fan-blog trying to score a dumb point with a rumor they thought they saw in some badly mistranslated article.
No 6/10 is for crap like Too Human, Move Heroes, and Bodycount. Sorry.
I'd give it an 87/100. Easy.
I decided not to buy it because of the PSN Pass. I won't buy it until it hits $30 or less. Same goes for any game with PSN Pass and most games with a WB, EA, or THQ pass. Sadly I already preordered Saint's Row 3 and Batman Arkham City on Onlive and there are no refunds so I'm stuck. I'm not getting Mass Effect 3 or Darksiders 2 until they hit $30. And I even feel bad about buying Rage on sale for $45 from Newegg with it's marked off Sewers crap.
With the possible exception of Torchlight, where I payed the full $20 after seeing it played on youtube, the only time I ever buy stuff on Steam is during their big promotional sales.
In a very real sense I am a parasitic and bothersome "customer" who does not REALLY shop there without a HUGE (say 75% off) incentive. I only purchase games from online download retailers when they are cheap as $#@#.
Even with streaming game services like Onlive, the o...
I didn't think Hard reset was that good. I like run n' gun and the "weal wall" secret areas but the two multi-mode weapons that you upgrade and the lack of enemy variety were very disappointing.
I enjoyed Bulletstorm a lot more.
That nobody wants.
