I think maybe it's time that YOU moved on. I'm buying Reach on day one or pretty close to it. I love Halo games.
I'll support this guy making a Darkstalkers/Vampire game IF he promises to add at least six new monster characters and ALL of the older characters.
1/4 the price of a new game for probably less than 1/4 of the content of a new game sounds kind of like a bad deal. Likewise if I do buy a PDLC then that same content is in the game when it comes out and if I buy the game then I pay for that content twice? Again, bad deal.
I think I will respond to this bad deal by not buying these glorified demos. They are a bad product that is not worth the money EA wants to charge.
In fairness 'the skin' comes with a bunch of "making of" documentary stuff and a nice plastic statue of the Nobel team. Personally I'm just getting the plain old version of the game but the skin is only one of the things included in the Legendary set. Pseronally I think it's a bit truer to the spirit of a collectors edition than a set of $70 toy monocular night vision goggles.
Abriel is a small minded tool bag trying to stir up trouble instead of playing all those good games he thinks the 360 is lacking. The beta is pure awesome-sauce and the grumpy haters all know it deep down in their bones.
The article is masturbatory, ranting, meandering, inconsistent in its perspective, overly colloquial, has poor coherence overall, and needs a LOT of editing. I'm still not sure what the author wants from me after reading it. There was something about people buying stuff they don't like so people like Roger Ebert will think they are smarter and that games are art.
I will say that the author is correct that forums and blogs are seemingly full of 'gamers' who come off as very react...
Umm Fromsoftware did some pretty awesome stuff including Tobal, King's Field, Frame Gride, and Otogi.
Also, the words 'niche' and 'trash' really do not go together. After all, Demon's Souls and 3D Dot game Heroes are both STILL considered niche titles even though they have been more successful than some other niche titles.
Fromsoftware develops licensed games just like everyone else does.
This is a Banpresto series. It's not much different from doing a publisher doing a movie game or a game based on a toyline and outsourcing it to a developer who has a schedule opening.
Oh great. Another almost randomly chosed German "X Vs. Y" screenshot comparison via google translation. Why not do a 'Kingdom Hearts on the PS2 vs. Battle Chess on the Amiga' comparison as well?
I'm going to get the regular version and pre-order on amazon so I get the $20 credit.
Also I'll probably use the $20 credit that I'll get for pre-ordering Super Mario Galaxy 2 on Halo Reach to get it for $40. Then I'll probably use the $20 from the Reach purchse to preorder Fallout:New Vegas.
I am also putting some money aside for Transformers: Battle for Cybertron and Rage (if it comes out this fall and the reviews aren't too bad).
Sadly I might have ...
BTW, in the trailer I saw the V-25F "Messiah" Valkyrie (from Macross Frontier), Overman King Gainer, Kei Kasuragi's' Oguroid (from Orguss), the Destiny Gundam (from Gundam Seed:Destiny), The Lancelot (from Code Gaess), The Crossbone Gundam (from a Gundam UC manga set around Jupiter that takes place sometime after Gundam ZZ), The ARX-7 Arbalest (Full Metal Panic), and one of the prototype VF-1 Valkyries (from Macross Zero)...if that's what the F-14 looking planes are that fly by at t...
Alternate Century Episode is a fairly old game series.
I doubt it will come to the US. Japanese animation based mash-ups rarely do because the rights to each show are sold or licensed to multiple entities in the US so too many people have to be paid off to make it happen profitably.
The only Super Robot Wars we ever got in the US was the one where they made up their own mecha and characters and did not use any from real anime.
Then again, Capcom manan...
He forgot to mention the impatient judgmental douche bag who can't stop telling everyone how to play the game and never blames himself for the consequences of his own mistakes. Y'know...that guy who thinks that it shouldn't count when someone kills him with a shot gun or grenade launcher (that's cheating!) and insists that there was lag or a glitch just about any time he gets killed. Usually these guys write long dumb blog articles about what's wrong with all the other players online.
And I see that this crap is still going on and STILL stupid. Most of you didn't even read the lame speculation disguised as an article but you still want to have a pitiful reaching delusional fight about it anyway.
I liked Quake 2, Tribes, Quake 3, Team Arena, Unreal Tournament, Unreal Tournament 2K3/4, Team Fortress 2, and many others. I also like Halo, Halo2, Halo3, ODST, and expect to like Reach. I liked CounterStrike, Halflife 2, F.E.A.R., Jedi Knight, Jedi Knight 2, Call of Duty, COD2, COD3, CoD4:MW, W@W, CoD2, Battlefield, Battlefront, etc. and I still don't find Houghton's "case" for disliking Halo very compelling nor his attribution of its success to mega-hype and the supposed myopia o...
Yeah, people obviously only ever complain about stuff or challenge opinions or disagree from a state of hysteria.
Remember that one kids: anyone who disagrees with you or criticizes your observations as false or unlikely is automatically hysterical.
Lol.
It's never that you're wrong or you made a poor case. Negative responses are ALWAYS hysteria. (SARCASM)
Sounds like the author of the article really had no idea why he hates Halo or liked Reach. He did have a bunch of bad-sounding generalities to rattle off though. Haters usually do for ANY game. Unfortunately many of the list of supposed defects really don't apply to Halo or its sequels at all.
Halo is a Quake 3 wanna be in multiplayer 'but slower' and it sucks partly due to 'action figure' presentation? WTF? Q3 is pretty damned action figurey in it's presentation. It even had th...
No real topic? Hey, no problem! Just make a list of semi-random crap and and pass that off as news!
Jeez. I think I first heard about this last June or so. Maybe it was July. Kind of taking their sweet time aren't they?
Nope. Sorry. It doesn't look the same. Nice try though 'Captain Bring-Down'.
