This is a very smart move by MS. If all their other competitors accept the deal / are fine with the acquisition then Sony just looks obstructionist and immature to the regulators.
Also a pretty big win for Nintendo to get COD back after so many years.
This deal is going through, bookmark this message. Brace for impact.
Can you link that? Everything on their Twitter, YouTube and website suggests Steam + Xbox only (and that it isn't out yet / is only in beta).
I think you've gotten this confused for another game, this isn't out on PS4.
The top selling consoles lists includes handhelds and home consoles. A unit sold is a unit sold.
Since when were sales numbers 'base consoles only'? If that's true, then the PS4 probably sold around half of what is being counted since there will be a lot of PS4 slim and PS4 pro sales included in the current numbers.
@S2
If it's selling 1.2million in a week, there is obviously demand for it. Things that are not in demand, do not sell.
@shinoff The thumbnail is comparing Xbox One X to Xbox Series X.
DF: "Looks Identical"
anast: "Looks better on PS5!"
I think we know who to trust and who not to trust here...
Good for publishers you mean, and even then, only high up folk will see the benefits of this.
I can see them getting to the #1 spot on one condition - they make a Switch Pro.
Otherwise I don't think it'll get there.
Which means those consoles are half consoles? or the user engagement is less? Nope.
A sale is a sale.
1.2-1.3 million units in a week is kinda insane when we've been seeing 100-500k for the past year. Black Friday drives an insane amount of sales.
Also, Switch has finally taken the scalp of PS4 (despite being on the market for half the time). GameBoy next. Will it overtake the DS & PS2 to be #1? Possibly.
I thought the story of Downpour was great, and I liked the new environments - but the gameplay just didn't hold up.
Did it even work for SH? The last two games were awful, and we're about to have one of the best games in the history of the industry handed to one of the weakest developers in recent times.
MGS should not be trusted with anyone but Kojima.
@Nyxus The earliest price increasers set the standard, so yes. MS waited to see the reaction, let the drama die down a bit, and then did the same increase.
----
@darkrider This may just be the start indeed - they're still a few price increases behind Sony in other places, so don't be surprised if those come sooner or later.
----
@Christopher Ultimately, regardless of size, they're both greedy corporations....
Sounds like you've got the wrong person - I've continuously said that while I think it's good they've held off on increasing prices, it will ultimately happen one day. And here it is.
All corporate execs lie. Jim Ryan is still winning that leaderboard though, with Todd in 2nd place.
"How do think Microsoft will make 80 billion in profit."
Sorry, what? GP has to make 80 billion in profit? That's roughly the entire FY profit of Microsoft corporation combined.
If that's your justification for speculating about price hikes, then you're miles off target.
Sony led the way though and opened the doors for everyone else to jack up their prices.
Also, Sony aren't exactly a small start-up company either.
They can’t make any decisions for Activision or force them to make ports until the acquisition has closed.
