“Sony is not promoting Steam or GOG or Epic or Windows. By putting games there, Sony's giving them the profits off of their headset. It's not a smart move for them”
This entire paragraph seems to completely ignore the fact that Sony are already releasing games on Steam… so yes they are promoting Steam and giving them money.
And thus far it seems to be a very smart move.
However, they wouldn’t be giving them profits from their he...
What made you wait til now for the SD?
I have a Switch and PC too, and a bunch of last gen consoles - this article is about PS5 and Xbox Series.
No VR headset and no Xbox Series X with dev mode and emulators (I do have some devkits tho). If I was going to get one for emulators I would get the S not the X though. X seems like overkill for emulation.
Thumbstick movement doesn’t address everything I listed.
But that’s the beauty of opinions - we’re all entitled to one, the above is my opinion and the reviews of reviewers are their opinions - and theirs and mine are both valid :)
I picked up a Steam Deck. No plans for VR at this time (PSVR or otherwise).
You?
If that’s the console you want that’s fine.
At a 30-40% discount it might actually be worth upgrading.
That’s the price it should always be without day 1 games.
Consider me tempted.
He means the cards that grant PSN store credit which you can find in Walmart etc.
I’ve done this too in the past, if you’ve got a few games to buy you can easily save like $30-40 by stacking these. They’re on sale often.
Highly recommend it.
I judge based off of what I can see.
If MS released something this janky, I would criticize them - as would you.
That is entirely believable for the controller yeah, wireless is always a mess at conferences.
@Nacho But it will. Jim Ryan & Herman Hulst have said so themselves. Also, by FY25, only 50% of PS 1st party game sales will be on PlayStation consoles (according to Sony)
@Jin Yeah lol, at first I was like "What is play at action?" then it clicked :P But hey, I typoed your name as Jim in my last comment, so I'm equally as guilty.
That guy should've been a boxer. Missed his vocation.
This just doesn't look good. People say this is immersive and realistic, but it really isn't.
Look at the arm flailing to run, jittering/inaccurate mapping of controller movements to on-screen hand movement, "during combat movement is restricted to the highlighted path" and lastly, cellphone style swiping to rotate the character.
We sure are expected to make a lot of concessions for VR.
@Jim For now, yes. But for how much longer?
Plus, you said 'Not everyone can afford multiple consoles, games, and subscriptions.'
If you're that tight on cash, waiting a bit and saving money is probably an acceptable sacrifice.
@Jin Then the better option is to go for a PC.
A PC will last you the entire generation (and then some), typically has cheaper games, free online / no sub required, and will play everything from MS & Sony. The only thing you won't get is Switch/Nintendo games.
For me, I have a PS5 only right now but I know I'll end up with both. I always end up with all the consoles by the end of a generation (minus all the refreshes).
Sad news. I remember the days everyone was out buying SB cards.
RIP sir.
Nope, but I like to deal with facts, not fiction.
@343 I don't believe it is either of the above, not even remotely.
Literally no chance of that happening. They don’t need to - they’re seemingly making good progress with the regulators.
Plus, it’s not like they will have been actively maintaining a PS5 build that they can just churn out overnight.
