They just announced Sayonara Wild Hearts is no longer coming…
Also, I highly recommend checking out Back 4 Blood. Especially if you liked L4D.
Hard disagree. Simply put, I like getting achievements/trophies.
Super Mario Bros first please. Plus we still need a current gen Mario Kart.
Unfortunately though, that just means the trailer isn't truly representative of the game, because I highly doubt they've gone and reworked the game.
We'll likely get a 30-60m deep dive on everything from Todd Howard. They can easily spent a ton of time talking about Starfield, the same can't be said about Forza etc.
I would be very surprised if either of those games are launching pre-E3. Fable won't even be this year, and HB2 I'm skeptical will be out this year.
To me, this suggests that Forza, Starfield and the other titles listed are all releasing pre-E3. Otherwise they'd probably just wait for E3.
I'll tune in, excited to see more.
@Sierra was it a nuclear bomb when it happened at Sony Santa Monica, Naughty Dog and Guerilla?
Nope. Wasn’t then and it isn’t now.
What Madlad wrote. Denuvo hits performance hard, enough that people crack legit copies of Denuvo games.
This game was already looking like it was DOA - now on PC it’s dead before arrival.
Seems like it’ll be a good thing for employees of Activision when they become part of MS. They recognize unions.
@Behind You're right - I don't truly care about any of my electronics. If my house were burning down, I wouldn't be going back in for my PS5 or PC.
We're talking about it because industry veterans formed a new studio.
These guys (and ladies) weren't sitting down to design gameplay elements. Way below their pay grade.
@crazy I've posted my PS5 on here multiple times with unique messages, happy to do so anytime.
@Aloy That may be true in 2022, doesn't seem true in 2023.
But it's clear they're both going in the same direction - PC, subscriptions, etc. The strategies are basically copy paste at this point minus a few minor divergences like VR.
Didn't they just announce revenue for FY22 that broke all previous fiscal years?
Also GP revenue has exceeded 3bn dollars.
Seems like the revenue stream is fine, no?
How do you know this is tied to being acquired by Microsoft? They were acquired ~5 years ago. Takes way less than 5 years to job hunt / start up a new business.
If I were working at an smaller independent studio, I would certainly be happy to be bought out by MS/Sony/Nintendo/EA/Activision /T2, just for the job security alone.
Passion is just a word to cover up extreme crunch. I guarantee you 99% of them would not be doing crazy hours on the game if it wasn't essentially standardized and required by companies in this industry.
Or maybe they both have the same purpose? Make as much money as possible.
And as of late, they're both going around it the same way with subscriptions etc.
I will be interested to see what their studio comes up with. Must be refreshing to work on something new after so many years at Playground just making Forza.
There’s a playable demo up on the PS store. We know what we’re getting.
“It's a new ip” doesn’t make up for a game being lackluster.
