More services are better. It would be far worse to have everything locked behind one service, that would then be a literal monopoly and they could charge us any fee per month.

"MS is buying up multiplatform gaming publisher. This results in LESS competition genius"
Does it? Nothing appears to be changing at all. COD isn’t going anywhere from PS.

“MS is a shit company for doing this to the industry and others will now follow them”

And just like that you completely evaded my question - who is saying there aren't enough sales of the PS5?

"The sales would be higher if it wasn't because of the pandemic"

And if I was born as Joe Biden I'd be the president right now. We can talk about hypothetical situations all day long, doesn't change where we are today. Also, naive to assume that only PlayStation was affected by shortages - every device containing chips was, ...

Little bit dramatic there. You talk like MS buying COD and keeping it cross-platform is the end of the games industry.

Publisher vs Developer is arguing semantics. Makes no difference if you buy up 1 publisher w/ 20 developers or 20 developers individually. Same outcome.

"We will have a lot of service options soon."

Isn't that a good thing? Competition is healthy and options are important.

"If the drive ever dies you can replace it and that’s nice long term . I’m a collector and I really like more replaceable parts"

This isn't going to be an off the shelve Blu-ray drive though. It'll be one produced by Sony specifically for the PS5 that has their encrypted FW etc. to stop piracy.

So not really useful for collectors, well not once Sony stop making PS5 accessories anyway. So not really any different from today.

@Golfcoaach

Sorry, didn't see this - sometimes the notifications are a bit janky.

You can find a digital here: https://direct.playstation....

Also sent you a PM to make sure you see this.

Enjoy!

To be fair to them, they were only off by 1m, not bad given how they're tracking it - Sony's numbers will obviously be more accurate.

I have literally never seen anyone say PS5 sales are low or that there 'arent enough' sold.

VR is another topic of course; VR has always had low adoption on PS and I don't see that magically changing with PSVR2/PS5.

Not just Xbox gamers. PS + PC gamer here and I want this to go through.

COD in GamePass is enough justification for me. I’m looking forward to not paying $70 every year for COD.

Stretch goals… I would like regular Crash Bandicoot games of similar quality to the trilogy + Crash 4.

“ The reality is these deals are more than likely to fail if they've gone this far down the road with regulators.”

Not when the regulators are the ones stating they want to make a deal and avoid federal court.

Him and every other leader in gaming apparently. Nintendo, Microsoft, EA, Epic, Valve, Take2 etc all won the honor too.

I think Jim Ryan is a good leader of PS for Sony as a corporation, but less so for us as gamers. Not a patch on the past leaders of PS.

@1Victor

"Meaning at the end of the day their plan get busted and they loose 69 billions plus"

Lose 69 billion? Why? Are they going to start handing out every Activision game for free?

COD was never going anywhere. They will happily keep COD on PS and make billions of dollars off of PlayStation.

1250d ago 2 agree3 disagreeView comment

@Redemption As long as they get COD, why would they care? They were never going to remove COD from PS anyway, that would be financial suicide. I bet they'd happily sign an agreement saying COD will keep coming to PS.

As long as they get the revenue from COD, that's a win for Microsoft.

"If 15 or 17 studios were force to make games only for the smallest competitor in videogaming, now that would be a Huge problem"

Wouldn't that be a good thing? Competition is healthy after all.

1250d ago 1 agree19 disagreeView comment

@darkrider So... not a monopoly then.

They can have 1 billion studios, still not a monopoly if you have other options for games. A monopoly requires the "exclusive possession or control of the supply of or trade in a commodity or service.". If this was a true monopoly, the FTC would be going to court and would have a proper case, not seeking a settlement.

"And all those games are top seller in each category"

Oh boy, I can't wait for Russian EA. Do I get to pay for my microtransactions in Rubles? At least it'll be cheaper with the exchange rate.
