I'll +1 gamerz comment below. Glad to see them simplifying this, the current system is a bit of a mess. The games have been great overall though, glad to see Hitman back on track and keep it coming.
@Pissmaster Happy new year to you too. Should be a banger year for all of the big 3!
@ravens I stopped paying attention to downvotes a while back, it means nothing :P
Congrats to FROM, well deserved. I said it before and I'll say it again, ER is head and shoulders above everything else that was released this past year.
Also, there were people on here a few days ago trying to downplay the success of ER because "TLOU2 won more awards" - that statement didn't age well at all.
It's awards, not sales.
It's irrelevant whether Sony bought a publisher or not. The majority of their studios are acquired. 14 of the 22 (technically 21 since XDev isn't a studio) were the result of acquisitions.
It doesn't really matter if you buy up one big company w/ 20 sub entities or 20 smaller ones, the end result is the same - you have 20 studios.
One might even draw the conclusion that acquisitions are normal in this industry - and that is why I am fine with ...
Maybe, but I still expect we'll see a proper mid-gen refresh with a real spec increase.
Nintendo aren't about to drop a Switch 2 while Switch is still outselling PS5 and XSX.
I've been able to buy a PS5 at MSRP at the click of a button for ~6 months now and have it in my house within 48 hours, or I can just walk into Walmart and buy one off the shelf.
That means it is readily available.
I'll wait and see, I'll be checking it out for sure. I'm a sucker for anything with Kojima on the box :P
Back when it was initially announced to developers they stated 2 years - I'm pretty sure this was 'leaked' around the time as I recall it showing up on podcasts etc.
They've also told developers to expect other branded devices, but with the same performance / developers won't have to worry about supporting multiple read/write speeds.
So watch this space I guess - I expect we'll see something this year.
I've shown my PS5 on here multiple times, so that sounds like your problem not mine 🤷
And as I said, I can see the benefits of both. One is cheaper but more complicated, the other is hot-pluggable and less complicated, but more expensive.
So that's why I said do the middle ground. A plug n play M.2 adapter that lets you plug in any off the shelve drive & doesn't require you to open up the console.
That argument doesn’t really make sense though - most of Sony’s studios are acquisitions too, are you saying they cannot make a good game either?
Obviously the real reason they’re interested in Activision is COD (and the mobile stuff). That game is massive, and will give them a serious bump in revenue. Plus it’s not easy to make a FPS game that would dethrone COD - even Sony have said they don’t believe their studios could do that.
And let’s be honest - i...
That’s kind of the entire point of a comments section… to make comments.
No one is forcing you to read them though 😉
Wasn’t the original deal with Seagate limited to 2 years? If so we’ll probably start seeing non-Seagate ones soon.
The simplicity of the cards is nice, I’d like to see a middle ground - an adapter that lets you plug in an M.2.
“I want to do something more impactful than a pizza delivery”
This may not be the game for you my friend.
One can dream :p
At the very least give us a Super Mario Bros game… the WiiU one has surely stopped selling well now.
I kinda forget COD mobile exists and King is part of Activision tbh.
Not much of a mobile gamer, in fact I don’t think I’ve ever played a game on my cellphone.
It does print money though - mobile gaming is now bigger than “traditional” (PC + console) gaming. And monetizing every platform is a very smart way to become #1 in the longer term.
I think you’ll find I criticized both of them.
And anything put in a legal statement like that is essentially a question - MS lawyers need to address it.
It definitely surprised people in the demo and not in a good way.
I expect this to be one of those games where critics are heavily out of sync with gamers.
DS, Starfield, SM2, RE4 and Zelda for me.
Theres definitely some liberal application of “2023” here. I really doubt we’ll see Alan Wake 2 and Death Stranding 2 this year.
Hopefully we get some more updates on Max Payne remake too. But also doubt it’s a 2023 game.
The world is not ready for that many Pachinko machines.
