If the future of the industry is huge AAA games like Zenimax games for a low monthly cost - Count me in!

No one likes paying $70 for a game.

@isarai It's not the same functionality at all? Right now I have a hard limit, even with compression, there is an upper limit of how many games I can install. When that limit is reached, the only options I have are:

1. Stop buying new games (not feasible obviously)
2. Delete old games fully (I have a data cap, so this isn't really feasible either)

I have lots of external drives laying around from last gen - why can't I back my games u...

Totally agree - those two games were huge for the industry & direction of platformers.

p.s. love the irony of your name for this post :P

To be honest, I'd be willing to trade out the compression rate in return for expandable storage + cold storage.

Come on Sony!

They probably didn't include it (and a bunch of others) because of their criteria for "lasting influence on the industry".

SMMM is a good game, but it doesn't stand out enough to have THAT huge of an impact on the industry as a whole - especially when compared to games like Mario, Halo & Tetris.

Super Mario 64 + Halo were my favorite launch games - outstanding games.

I can't find anything on there about which ones are exclusives.

This is huge. Easily the biggest move in the history of the industry.

Congratulations Microsoft & Xbox, and more so - congrats gamers! Lots of good content to look forward to in the future.

Source?

Still a bunch of timed exclusives for PS5 that they likely cannot (or are not willing to) buy their way out of - Deathloop and Ghostwire.

And that's totally fine - your dollars are the same dollars to Microsoft - regardless of whether you buy on a PC or an Xbox.

If anything, they might make a higher profit share given they aren't trying to recoup hardware losses from you.

This is a misleading article - on PS5 RE:VERSE is a separate install. On Xbox, the package size includes RE:VERSE.

That being said, RE:VERSE looks terrible and everyone should uninstall it.

Just when you thought the PS5 couldn't get any bigger or any uglier...

If he removed all the plastic brackets and just had the transparent plastic it would look sweet. I miss transparent plastic 1990's electronics! Transparent N64 and GameBoy were awesome!

I'll admit I was initially skeptical about HITMAN when they first rebooted it with the episodic content etc - but 3 games in, this series has been great.

It's Australian dollars not American.

Still beats out what Sony are offering us today on PS5 which is... a smaller hard drive, no expansion options and no cold storage... that is a far higher cost.

This BB gift card move is a 1000 IQ move. Congrats sir.

It's like buying a house - Microsoft provides the cash, gets the keys, and has a house (or a lot of new exclusive games in this case).

1813d ago 1 agree4 disagreeView comment

It seems very unlikely Microsoft spent 7.5bn and doesn't expect huge exclusives in return.

1813d ago 9 agree3 disagreeView comment

Not a huge surprise - anyone expecting the US/EU to block this was living in a fantasy land.

With the purchase closing, I expect MS to shift their focus to their next acquisition - the question is who is it...
