Yeah this definitely hasn’t been normal in the games industry unfortunately.
Large assets are a part of that, some games uncooked/raw assets are simply too big for “consumer” internet connections both in terms of bandwidth/speed and data caps.
Companies are typically also concerned with people snapping pictures of the game and leaking them etc.
And then you have devkit restrictions - the big 3 have a lot of rules around dev kits being a...
Too deluded if you think a corporation is perfect and immune to criticism by its own customers / those criticizing it must be from the competition.
The amount of corporate shilling in this one post is insane. I think we just discovered Jim Ryan’s N4G account guys.
- Game prices are important, we aren’t here to milk / get ripped off.
- Since when we’re 8/10 games bad?
- Lots of good games are being left behind with those legacy stores
- Killzone is great and needs a new entry
- What? Why would it be good to leave a sequel for PS6 which will presumably be 5-10 years away.

Xbox living rent free in your head clearly.
I personally don’t see any problem with emulating a game provided it isn’t readily available anymore - either via the original console + game being on sale or via backwards compatibility.
Does TLOU really need a remake already? It’s only 8 years old in June, already had a remaster and still plays great, looks great and has modern controls & mechanics - what’s to remake?
This is pretty hilarious. Yahoo Answers lives on!
@Bathyj Who said Nintendo needs to copy MS? The article is about Sony.
“ PS+ destroys game-pass at a quarter of the price”
What? They aren’t even the same type of service. One is a huge library of games with streaming, the other one is a subscription to play online with a few games thrown in monthly.
PS+ is equivalent to Live Gold
PSNow is equivalent to game pass
“I don't think what you're saying makes a lot of sense because there could be gamers on PlayStation 5 with a huge backlog of games from PlayStation 4 they can just put the disk in and play on PlayStation 5.”
Huh? I was lead to believe that backwards compatibility sucked and only Xbox people “played old games” because there are 100’s of good PS5 exclusives out right now.
“Also you have to take into account internet data limits because I used 75% if...
Is it? The webpage suggests it is coming to PS4, 5, XB1, XSX, Stadia and PC.
All joking aside, I'm pretty sure my PC is going to wipe the floor with the PS5 version... obviously.
"There's only one next gen console with a next-gen SSD / 3D Audio / Controller / OS / VR / Games"
Can you point me to where this mythical console is? I've never heard of it, but based on your list above, it obviously isn't PS5 or Xbox Series....
@SurgicalMenace How does that math work?
1. Your GP numbers are monthly. 300 million a month. Which would be 3.6 billion dollars a year.
2. 3.6 billion dollars is more than all of those games combined, and those games did not all launch in the same year, so you can effectively remove HZD from the annual numbers.
3. Those games are one time purchases, subscriptions are recurring so in year 2, Microsoft again makes >= 3.6 billion dolla...
Watch all the people who’ve spent years here bashing game pass suddenly think it’s the best thing in the world.
Lol imagine making alt accounts to back yourself up, so sad.
@Zeebo314 Except the quarterly earnings reports are public... and show profit. Xbox struggling is just a fantasy of some people.
Zenimax is obviously a cash injection from corporate though - but that is normal for acquisitions - and Microsoft makes multiple Zenimax’s of profit per quarter, so it’s no big deal to inject cash like that.
Shrug, they might be third, but let’s not pretend Sony wouldn’t swap positions with them given half a chance.
Then Xbox is doing fine - making a lot of money. This fantasy some people have on here that Xbox is losing money and isn’t profitable is laughable.
Xbox is a highly profitable division of MS, and MS overall is doing far better than Sony. Sony would clearly change positions with MS if they could.
This is pretty cool - but GTA4 on PC is a mess...
How about the part where they just had their biggest quarter in history (despite supposedly having shrunken its market share according to you)
In the article they also note that replacing the battery will only work if Sony keeps PSN up for the console - which based on recent events/behavior - I wouldn’t bet on that being the case long term.
