God knows, it's not like it's an unlimited demo either, it stops you playing after 30m... It's basically the same as the RE2 demo they had, except that demo wasn't locked to 8 hour time windows...
Pretty cool. Should help devs adopt more modern rendering techniques on both PC & Xbox rather than have to target old versions to cover the majority of their users.
The 45fps came from Capcom, presumably there are parts of the game that dip to 45, not unbelievable if the small demo is already dipping to 50fps.
They probably could've just dropped the res a bit to 1800p or something and hit 60 consistently... but Sony needs to patch PS5 with VRR sooner rather than later.
They aren't doing it out of the goodness of their heart... it's a smart business move.
Most PS4 owners likely already have the game. They will attract players who didn't buy it (or are new to PS with PS5) and may try it and get hooked and buy the sequel. The complete edition is only $17 at retail so not a huge money loss for Sony given most probably already own it.
The same will apply to your Steam and PS/Switch games too, should those services ever shut down. They’d likely just patch to remove the DRM before turning off the service.
As much as I enjoyed DG - I don’t see how the lack of a sequel is anyone but Sony’s fault - it’s especially not the fault of gamers.
Also making such statements about waiting for games to go on sale being bad just makes him/Sony sound out of touch with gamers, especially during a pandemic/economic downturn for many of them.
We’re back to overly confident, out of touch PS3-era Sony after the PS4’s success.
@Thundercat77 if being last means 5bn dollars in a quarter and a 2tn dollar market cap - I think MS will be fine with that - Sony would swap places at the drop of a hat if they could. So how much stock do you have in Sony?
@waverider “ Microsoft strategy isnt working” since when was 5bn dollars revenue in 3 months classified as “strategy not working”
@SayaiJin Agreed. Lots of people tracking sales here who aren’t even shareholders lol.
This^
MLB + Destroy All Humans is more than enough content to keep me happy for this month & justify my subscription.
@Tedakin Look at that, enkiduxiv managed to write an entire paragraph without even remotely addressing your question.
Game Pass has got him all worked up for some bizarre reason.
I don't get why people are so uppity over mods all of a sudden. It just adds more value to a game for me & lots of good games have grown out of mods.

"Best Buy has a killer four-day sale"
Not sure I'd classify this as 'killer'.

Yeah... it's so weird that it's only available on two dates and for 8 hours... and Sony paid for this? They should've demanded better terms.

Great game - and awesome that they're giving it away for free. Good time for those who hadn't played the first to jump in ahead of the sequel.
Tried this out on game pass, had tons of fun! If you enjoyed Untitled Goose Game, you'll enjoy this.
This is why GP is awesome, I probably wouldn't have risked buying this, but the barrier for entry is so low with GP.
It wasn't just about purchases - downloads/patches for certain games started to disappear too. No need to downplay.
About time too! We just need smart TV apps next.
This looks fun, like Portal on drugs. Going to try this out for sure.
So 45fps is actually 45-60fps. I guess they played it safe and went for the lower bound.
That VRR update for PS5 can't come soon enough.
Great news! And all those people on here said we were just hating by speaking up - sometimes when we speak up, big companies listen.
