Really sad to hear that. Their work on Crash and Spyro was great and it was awesome to have a new Crash.

Hopefully this doesn’t mean Activision is dropping Crash again...

We all know majiebeast will be playing this day 1 while crying over his Xbox controller.

@waverider You are living in a fantasy land if you think PS5 or XSX stock is being artificially held back and would be sitting on shelves otherwise.

Anyone who’s tried to buy these consoles is laughing at you.

Ah, the old commercial trick of not selling units on purpose. Because corporations don’t exist to make money.

@Silly gameAr Except multiple recent statements / leaks suggest Sony will be ramping up their efforts to directly compete with Game Pass, likely at E3.

I'm just interested - if/when Sony announce something similar/near identical to Game Pass and start pushing it harder, will we suddenly pretend game subs are the best thing ever? or will the narrative stay the same?

So hyped for this. Very fond memories of the N64 Snap.

"When you have this crazy software sales, you don't need to create a renting/subscription based service as gamepass."

Except... Sony are supposedly doing just that. So what's the reasoning behind that? Are you telling me PS5 software sales are bad?

So PS + Xbox is ~75% of their revenue... iOS is only 7% - not a huge surprise.

So you're telling me that Sony/MS would rather pretend a console is sold out and get $0, than get your $500? That seems unlikely.

Also:

- 47.6 million PS+ subscribers
- PSNow numbers not provided
- 338 million game sales for PS4/5 in the past year
- $24.4bn in revenue for the past year

If things were normal, figures would probably be lower (for everyone) since people would be out doing other things, people wouldn’t have had stimulus checks or spare cash from not going on vacation etc.

As sick as it sounds, the pandemic has been great for games companies.

You summed it up perfectly.

I have very fond memories of the PS2 years, we had so many high quality exclusives both close to launch, and back to back throughout. A lot of my favorite entries in my favorite franchises (SH, MGS etc.) were PS2 games.

I think exclusivities ending was due to a shift in the industry - publishers started to realize they could make a lot more money if they simply launched everywhere, given the market foothold gained by Sony's...

@RazzerRedux "There is a difference between consoles and handhelds"

No. There is a difference between handheld/portable consoles and home/stationary consoles. Both are still games consoles. Even Sony & Nintendo referred to the PSP/Vita & GB/DS/etc as consoles.

Since when were the DS, PSP, Gameboy etc. not games consoles? Did I miss something?

1769d ago 6 agree5 disagreeView comment

@Thundercat77 So you're telling me games like MLB, Control, Halo, Fallen Order, Forza, Madden, Zenimax games etc. were all bad games and didn't sell well? That seems unlikely.

Sunset was a fun game. It likely suffered sales wise because of how much of a mess the XB1 was.

Between this and R* giving out free DLC for LA Noire & MP3 on PC - I really hope this means they're going to start paying more attention to their back library.

We need Max Payne 3 on Xbox backcompat. And then new entries from MP, LA Noire, Bully and Midnight Club.

C'mon, we're over 6 months into the gen!

Target online stock is separate from in-store stock. 20 physical and 2 digital in-stock. Zip code & store name are in there if you want to go check with Target yourself.

p.s. If you're still looking for a PS5... try contacting Target support with the item numbers above, they can check all nearby stores. Your mileage may va...
