Looking forward to trying this out and seeing if the mechanics actually work well in real gameplay. Could be hit or miss.
Not too long now and I expect we’ll see a lot more at E3.
Seems like X1X in quality mode is the way to go for those who can’t get their hands on a next gen box yet.
The game is still fun and the remake is of high quality - I’d forgotten how good ME2 is!
@BehindTheRows No idea what you’re talking about. I’ve both praised and criticized all 3 on this site.
The above is not a criticism of Sony, how is it?
PS5 is a great box and I thoroughly enjoy it - but the load times are mostly due to the SSD vs mechanical from last gen, and sure Sony made the decision to put one in the box but they certainly didn’t invent the SSD - in the same way Microsoft didn’t invent ray tracing or VRR - they leverage existing techn...
“ People like to crap on things that aren't perfect, and to them suddenly a 7/10 is bad”
7/10? 70 on average would be a decent game IMO. Out of 28 reviews this game got one 7/10, everything else was lower.
Why are we suddenly pretending that this is a good game simply because it got a next gen upgrade? No one cared about it prior to this.
@Fntastic I’ve played it too - the reviews were accurate. Happy now?
Hoping for a new Mario kart, bros game and MP dated for 2021.
Not long to go now!
Hmm?
It’s a 47 on metacritic. Next gen upgrades don’t suddenly double that.
I like Cerny and have tons of respect for him - but why are we suddenly pretending he invented the SSD?
Sorry but no amount of next gen perf improvements can make this a good game.
The dollars from GamePass plus MS + Zenimax games on switch would vastly outnumber any losses created - MS barely release any Switch games anyway and I doubt we’d see Nintendo first party games in GP.
I still expect this to be an E3 announcement - and likely only via Xcloud - even more so after the Epic lawsuit stuff.
What’s the downside for Nintendo?
They get:
- Microsoft games
- More Switches sold
- Likely a cut of GamePass subscription dollars
And don’t really have to give up anything? Unless MS are asking for something crazy like Mario on Xbox.
Heck, based on Phil Spencer’s previous comments, they could be the only non-MS hardware with Zenimax games… that would be a big boost.
Back on PS3, yes. But the couple of free games a month is no longer the primary reason to subscribe - and hasn’t been for a very long time.
If PS+ wasn’t required for online play and cloud saves, I wouldn’t even subscribe for a few games a month.
Gameplay footage and a release date.
PS+ is not a content subscription like GamePass. You get a couple of games for free as a perk but primarily you are paying for online play, cloud saves and community features. It is equivalent to XBL gold.
PSNow is more equivalent to game pass - but with worse content - and due to that has only managed to amass 2 million subscribers in an 8 year period…
They need better content in PSNow.
Waverider clearly has no idea how subscriptions work. They hook you with $1 deals and then you get in and think “hey this is good” (or forget to cancel) and end up subscribing long term at full price.
Netflix, PSNow, PS+, XBLGold, GamePass, Spotify, Apple Music all do this.
This post was written by someone who jumped into both Netflix and GamePass for a buck and ended up subscribing for years at full price ;)
GamePass in the few years it has existed has grown to be the #1 content subscription - PSNow has been around twice as long and only managed to get around 10% of the numbers GamePass has so they are doing well and I’m sure MS will be happy with the numbers as will the game developers on GP be.
100% agree with Ted. The game was fun, but definitely not the best thing Sony have pumped out.
A 7 is fair, the game is good but it’s not Uncharted or GOW good.
That theory would only make sense in a world where most PS games don’t review VERY well.
Why would a fanboy reviewer review this badly because it’s Playstation and then turn around and give a 9 or 10 to Uncharted, TLOU or GOW?
You’re right it did do well - despite being in GamePass, it still sold 2.5 million in a few months.
