"With this build, the option for native 4K on PlayStation has been disabled due to stability – and performance related reasons. What you see here is 1080p at 60 frames-per-second upscaled to 4K at 60 frames-per-second. It will remain deactivated for the release version, too."

Yeesh. Never a good sign when you have to start your trailer with that kind of disclaimer.

Still hoping R* revives this. Such a unique IP and I would love a sequel!

Court documents from today at least seem to show Nintendo being open to discussing Game Pass and Xcloud with Microsoft. Nintendo have also partnered with companies in the past to bring streaming to Switch. So not that ridiculous.

Why would Nintendo be against it? Presumably in any deal negotiated they would get a cut of game pass/XCloud dollars, as well as more Microsoft content on Switch & a higher amount of sales for their hardware. I don't see any negative for Ni...

Not sure 5bn dollar quarters are to be considered as 'f*cking up', and how is making profit 'bleeding money'?

Source? The above link does not show Nintendo saying no. And be like what?

Court documents revealed today in the Epic/MS vs Apple case involving Nintendo-MS communications suggest otherwise.

And now they are seemingly in talks to have Xbox Game Pass on Switch... interesting times.

@SullysCigar "I'd say the biggest difference is that Xbox series XS can't run it in VR."

Neither can the PS5? There is no VR headset for the PS5 today, nor is there a VR version of this game.

Also the vast majority of consumers/gamers are not playing on VR, so it is irrelevant for the majority, where as the performance when running the game in 'normal mode' is the experience which 99.999% of gamers will see.

The problem with that is, DLSS doesn't magically make the gap in hardware disappear. If you have two games running at 1440p w/ DLSS up to 4K, developers will just have extra resources to make the XSX version prettier due to not having to hit native 4K.

Whether they choose to use those resources or just settle for parity, is a different story.

A pretty sizable gap. I still need to finish the first, but will do so and then pick this up.

"Im waiting on a version of the game which has not been announced, nor rumored - and the developer has actually spoken out against historically"

Why not just play it today and enjoy it for the game it is? If you're going to wait on PSVR versions of every game, you're going to miss out on a LOT of good games because most games do not come to PSVR.

Seems pretty likely this will come to PC - I doubt this trailer was a typo. Any follow up tweets may just be an attempt to leak control / avoid any risk of a drop in day 1 sales.

@badz149 Not really comparable / even remotely close due to less quality games and no new games. That’s partly why the subscriber number is so low compared to GP too, despite being out for far longer as you pointed out. Heck, in its current form I wouldn’t even consider subscribing to PSNow.

Sony apparently think the same - hence why they are preparing a game pass competitor.

Lets revisit this statement in 5 years and see if it aged well :P

I can’t wait to see the sudden 180 when Sony announce their upcoming game pass competitor.

It’ll be the best thing ever and somehow Sony, who are far less wealthy than MS will be able to sustain the business model forever!

P.S. money doesn’t grow on trees and the majority of the world doesn’t enjoy paying a dollar more than they have to, not just for games, but for anything.

Xbox Game pass is good for consumers, and Sony’s GamePass will...

I can do that too: "Sony are going to 10x the price of PS+, Nintendo are going to 10x the price of Switch Online. Stadia? 100x"

It's amazing what you can claim with no source to back it up.

Huh? A quick search reveals a Metacritic in the 80s and over 1m in sales in around 1 month.

By your standards, Returnal, Sackboy, Miles Morales, AC Valhalla, Astros, and just about every other game that came out in the past year are bargain bin junk - which clearly they are not.

@Magog And what have any of those games got to do with Mass Effect? Are they other entries in the series?

@FutureShark There’s so much wrong information in your post I don’t even know where to begin.

1. We have boosted PS4 games on PS5. It’s just that Sony’s implementation isn’t as good as Microsoft’s and requires the developer to do substantial work - and less devs are willing to do it.

2. Smart Delivery is nothing to do with “forwards” (or backwards) compatibility, it’s basically just a cross-buy solution and a system that installs the best version for your...
