So if I go buy the game and throw the disk into my PS5 or XSX - is the above video representative of what I will experience? Yes. It is.
The fact that Sony haven’t bothered to implement something doesn’t somehow mean the two platforms are equal in this respect and large differences in performance like this can impact buying decisions.
Right… but it’s clearly technically possible to run these games at higher clocks and nothing stops Sony implementing similar functionality.
So it’s a fair comparison and accurately represents the experience the end user can expect on each platform.
“ Maybe even the one before that.”
You must have had a different PS3 and 360 from the rest of us because oh boy, even though these screenshots are old, my gen 7 games didn’t look anywhere near as good as these screenshots.
Dreams is awesome. They need to expand it onto PC.
It’s an Xbox ecosystem exclusive - unless we are now also pretending that games like HZD, Days Gone, DS and all the other Sony games clearly coming to PC are also not exclusive.
Also whether you buy those games on Xbox/PS, or PC - MS/Sony still get your money.
Why would anyone wish a game to flop hard? You can’t be a real gamer.
@ThePacemaker By exclusive I meant in the console space - same way I still consider HZD, DG, DS etc, a PS exclusive.
Glad to hear you’re planning on picking it up though - whether on Xbox or PC, I’m confident it’s going to be a good experience - and good to support Zenimax on making new IP’s.
I’ll likely be playing it on both since it’ll be in game pass for both - assuming I can get my hands on an Xbox in time, and assuming that it has cross saves between...
Switch is doing great - I expect it to outsell the Wii and Gameboy, and perhaps even catch the DS.
Hype for this game is through the roof - I really hope it lives up to expectations. It may be the first must have exclusive for XSX.
E3 is going to be interesting - under a month away now!
Huh? I just re-read his entire post a few times and didn’t see a single mention of MS of Xbox. Am I missing something?
@Apocalypse I have had my VR submissions pulled too - it seems like current policy is non gaming specific VR news (e.g. general news relating to Vive etc rather than PSVR, or VR games) should be considered general tech news - which is fair.
I agree though - a one line LinkedIn post really is scraping the bottom of the barrel. I’ve put a report up on the article.
I wasn’t aware that I could approve anything - as far as I know it requires 10 votes and I count as 2. Interesting.
No one is doubting that 3rd party exclusives will come to PS - or any other console - it’s guaranteed, that’s why this isn’t news.
@Pricey I really doubt Sony see PC as a threat to PS, while there is some crossover, a lot of console gamers won’t even go near PC gaming, it’s not as affordable, accessible and easy to use for example.
By exclusives being important (which they are) they could just be referring to the console space. It looks increasingly likely we will be seeing Sony games on PS and PC going forward - and I doubt it’ll have much, if any negative impact on PS consoles.
To those concerned about this making the stock situation even worse: Sony only put 50k consoles into China - far less than the West got at launch.
Consoles are also unpopular and niche in China. For example, Switch took over a year to sell 1m units in China, and they had Tencent helping them. Chinese people were also already buying (overpriced) consoles from the west, so all up this shouldn’t really affect the Western supply that much going forward.
They only put 50k units into China. That’s less than the US and Europe had at launch so it’s not really like they’re removing many units from the rest of the world to support China.
Consoles aren’t big in China generally so they will still be putting the majority of units into the west.
Of course it makes business sense. I’m still going to buy a PS6 if their games are on PC - as will the vast majority of current PS owners.
Console has some benefits over PC in terms of being more social, more comfortable, easier to access, less configuration etc. also certain games are better played on a console vs PC (and vice versa)
So Sony would still get the vast majority of PS customers today buying their future consoles but would now also reap the r...
To save you a pointless click:
It’s a one line LinkedIn post saying cool 3rd party content is coming to PS (surprise!). No info on which content or if it’s exclusive or not.
@Paleblood Why would you care if Sony release their games day 1 on PC? Not sure why you’re so upset over this.
You can still play them on PS5 and the game being on PC doesn’t somehow reduce your experience or the quality of the game.
@Magog Absolute nonsense and nothing but excuse making.
Both PS4 and PS5 use the same x86_64 architecture which XB1 and XSX use.
Both use a FreeBSD based OS too - while the Xboxes use a Windows based OS.
The solution is in software not hardware so architectures are irrelevant anyway.
It’s 100% possible for Sony to do what Microsoft has done here - any attempt to say otherwise is simply excuse making.
