I wouldn't trade my retro collection for some emulators. As poindat said, emulating the hardware is not the same as actually owning it.

Yeah I noticed that too; I also didn't see the Nintendo 64DD, Famicom, or Famicom disk system.

While hardware abuse may be the cause of some hardware failure, it is not the only cause. I have had both my Xbox 360 and PS3 break on me once(RROD and dead Blu-ray drive) and I keep my equipment on an open glass stand with a HEPA filter running 24/7 in said room. I've built dozens of PCs over the years and done repairs and modifications to game consoles as well.

Any console with moving parts is guaranteed to fail eventually, but the 360 and PS3 have had an unusually high failure...

Wii developers could certainly make better looking Wii games if they took advantage of TEV (which they also largely ignored on the Gamecube) but don't be fooled into thinking it'll make Wii graphics equal to what the PS3 and 360 are capable of. Even when compared to its contemporaries Flipper was not as feature rich as its Nvidia competition.

We've seen some developers take advantage of TEV such as High Voltage Software with The Conduit, and it still looked like an Xbox or PS2 ga...

They will be in HD on the PS3 and 360. Wii ports will still look terrible in comparison to games like Gears 2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, and Alan Wake, as the Wii does not have programmable shaders. None of these potential Wii ports were designed to take advantage of the hardware features of the HD twins since the Wii doesn't have them.

So in a sense you are right; people will likely not want these games because they will be graphically inferior to 95% of the current PS3 and 360 l...

After owning the Droid and trying the Nexus One I have to say that the next iPhone better have at least a WVGA display. The iPhone 3GS' measly 320x480 screen looks terrible in comparison to the Droid's 480x854 display, or the Nexus One's 480x800 AMOLED display. The new iPhone will probably be running something roughly equivalent to the 1GHz Snapdragon in the Nexus One, and it should be officially announced in June.

It would be even cooler if we could just get the European box art instead. The game is releasing in about a month though, so it is possible they have already started or even finished printing the inserts.

Natal will no longer be coming with a dedicated CPU in the unit. Frankly the initial plan for this was pretty silly as it would increase cost, which would hurt the adoption rate.

I am a little concerned with the camera only being 30Hz, as it'll likely make quick motions more difficult to capture. The 30Hz could be referring to only the IR camera, but we'll have to wait and see how good the software is to judge this product anyway.

Microsoft claims it'll require 10-15...

What do you expect from planetxbox360.com? I own the Xbox360, PS3, Wii, and a Radeon 5870 equipped gaming PC. It is foolish to try and claim that one platform is better than any other. Every platform is worth owning and has games and services to offer.

For graphics, additional content, and online setup the PC is unmatched. With that said, hardware costs on the PC are considerably higher than the PS3 or Xbox 360, and there are great titles we don't get on the PC like Uncharted 2....

Too bad DirectX will be useless when software based rendering takes over with CUDA/OpenCL/DirectCompute. If Microsoft and Sony have any brains, their next consoles will have fully programmable GPUs that remove the need for APIs like DirectX and OpenGL.

Actually, that is a good point in regards to FP32. I don't know of any PC games currently use FP32, let alone PS3 games as it requires a lot of memory bandwidth, a larger frame buffer, and will hurt your pixel fill rate quite a bit especially when talking about an older GPU like the G71 based RSX.

The 360 is even less equipped to handle it though due to the constraints of a 10MB frame buffer. Still, it is pretty unlikely most people would notice the difference between 64-bit and ...

I doubt that this game will run at 1920x1080, and if it does it'll be an amazing feat if it is able to do it with 2xAA. If Sony had left all 16 ROPs on the G71 unlocked, real 1080p wouldn't be uncommon for PS3 games.

When I played the demo I was not that impressed with the graphics. Sure they're alright, but they are definitely inferior to what Uncharted 2 is able to produce. Perhaps the final version will look a lot better. So far though I can't see why this game couldn't be done on the 360 as the demo was only in 720p anyways, which means that image tiling with the 360's 10MB of eDRAM wouldn't be too much of a burden.

But yeah, what do people expect Sony to say? "Oh yeah our games cou...

Well, if you purchase the phone unlocked you can use it on any GSM network(AT&T, T-Mobile) but it will only be available with a contract from T-Mobile. The phone does not support AT&T 3G, but EDGE only. I believe this phone will work fine on foreign networks like Vodafone as it is supposed to be a quad-band GSM phone.

You joke about this, but I wouldn't be too surprised if there is a phone powerful enough to run Crysis within 5 years. The main issue will likely be that these smart phones will be using future ARM variations, making them incompatible with the x86 instruction set.

The unsubsidized price is around $560 which is about average for high end smart phones. If you get it with a 2 year T-Mobile contract, it's around $199.

It's hilarious how fake this is. My guess is that this fellow is using his video to try and scam wanna-be hackers / skiddies into buying his €100 software to discover it doesn't work.

While I think Home in itself is a decent idea, the moderation staff are a bit extreme and have scared me away from ever using the service again. You can be suspended for even occasionally using profanity(which is censored anyway), as I learned the hard way.

It really is a shame the N900 has a resistive touch screen.

I own the Droid and I'm a little envious of the Nexus One's 512MB of RAM and 1GHz snapdragon. It will be coming to Verizon as the HTC Passion later this year.
