Right when IGN started bitching about the game feeling the same, just after giving Super Mario Galaxy 2 a 10.

lol, disagrees for wanting to end fanboy bickering over the most trivial of things. Only on N4G.

They should do away with the decimals completely. I look forward to the day when Xbox and PS3 fanboys stop arguing over a fraction of a point differential in review scores.

Even though I hate Call of Duty, there's no denying it would have taken some serious wind out of Crysis 2's sales on consoles. Hell, pair that with Halo Reach on the 360 and Crysis 2 would be lucky to break 500,000 sales for 2010.

This also gives Crytek more time to tighten up performance and other aspects of the game.

No, they would not be able to, sort of like how early 120Hz TVs are unable to accept a 120Hz signal. The TVs simply up-convert the 60Hz input internally.

I thought this wasn't Sony's fault? ;)

Sony was pretty quick to release a fix, so hopefully no one will be having issues now.

The original Tegra was not as fast as Nvidia claimed and was pretty power hungry for a mobile device. Tegra 2 has yet to be adopted for use in any real device.

I personally would rather see the PSP2 use something like TI's OMAP4, but with a PowerVR SGX545 instead of the 540.

What Microsoft did to Rare is a damn shame. One of the best developers of the 16-bit and 32/64-bit era was turned into garbage.

Best Buy often tweaks the settings on Plasmas to make them look worse than their more expensive LED backlit LCD TVs. The fact is Plasmas have better contrast ratios, better response times, and a wider color gamut.

You mean Pioneer Kuro's use Panasonic's technology, right? Panasonic is the supplier for Pioneer's Plasma panels.

Also, 600Hz subfield != 600Hz
They can still only accept 60Hz images, and simply show each of the 60 frames 10 times a second.

I wouldn't consider 2 years to be "much earlier", but you're right it was released first. Still, Splatterhouse had a bigger following and actually had licensed ports.

The original Splatterhouse that released in the late 80s in Arcades and for the Turbo Grafix 16 / PC Engine was pretty much the first violent video game ever.

The 13" Macbook will struggle with Starcraft 2 as it only has a Geforce 320m. You can get laptops capable of gaming at much higher levels for around $800.

Probably, but who cares? It's not like you'll have to use it, and I'm sure it doesn't affect the game too much.

Actually, quincunx anti-aliasing is closer to a typical 2xAA implementation, but with an extra post process that blurs the whole image.

5813d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

Edge detection shouldn't even be considered anti-aliasing for the most part, since there are so many limitations when using it. Anyway, Starcraft 2 looks great without anti-aliasing already.

5813d ago 4 agree0 disagreeView comment

From what I've seen, Starcraft 2 appears to use deferred shading, which is incompatible with normal hardware anti-aliasing in DirectX 9. The only way around it really is to use super-sampling anti-aliasing, which causes the game to simply render at a much higher resolution, and then downscale the image to fit your monitor, producing a very high quality anti-aliasing effect with some pretty large performance hits depending on what kind of GPU you're running.

No it wouldn't, because the Mac Pro only comes with an Geforce GT120 stock, and the best video card they offer on their site is the outdated and discontinued ATI Radeon 4870. There are GPUs 2-3x more powerful than that card on the PC, and you could always run multiple cards with Crossfire or SLI on a Windows PC.

Also, there's nothing stopping you from getting two 6 core Intel Xeons on a Windows PC, or multiple 6, 8, or 12 core AMD Opterons.

I don't know if I'd say it beats Uncharted 2, but it definitely belongs in the same league with it. I'm not really a Mass Effect fan so I can't really comment on that, but God of War 3 as fun as it was, is pretty shallow and does not have the same kind of replay value that Uncharted 2 and Starcraft 2 offer.

My $800 laptop is able to run games at a higher resolution and with more AA than the 360 and PS3. Now obviously the 360 and PS3 are still great systems, but if you really care about graphics, it's pretty hard to argue against the PC.
