You guys are so childish. Alan Wake was a great game despite it not releasing on your precious PS3. Why are you so defensive anyway? Alan Wake being a great game in no way takes away from awesome titles on the PS3 like Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, or God of War 3. I mean, I understand if you like the PS3 more but damn, you guys get so serious about the stupidest things.
I'm primarily a PC gamer so I don't really understand the console war mentality. Sure I like my PS3 mo...
I'm sure the game will run well, but I can almost guarantee that there will be physics effects that are exclusive to Nvidia owners.
If only Microsoft would have finished their GPU agnostic DirectPhysics API like they had planned when DirectX 10 first came out. Developers would be less likely to support proprietary engines like PhysX if there was a suitable GPU accelerated alternative.
At least it's only 24 hours so non-Plus members don't get screwed TOO much.
I'll probably be getting the PC version, but I am a little disappointed it is using PhysX as a Radeon 5870 owner. :(
The newest version used in Alien Swarm is actually a pretty large upgrade.
They already did, and it's in Alien Swarm. It will be in Portal 2 when that releases next year.
While I agree with you, megapixel count is not the only metric for image quality with a digital camera.
What about Apple TV?
Sony should have forced every game post January 2009 to have custom soundtrack support as they did with trophies.
Have you not played the 1988 original? It was extremely violent for its time, and this remake is simply continuing the trend.
Yeah, I guess you're right. Blizzard however will need mouse / keyboard support in any console game they might do in the future, or else the game will have to be simplified quite a bit.
The main reason the transistor count is so different between those CPUs is the massive difference in cache size. The i7 970X has 256KB of L2 cache per each of the 6 cores and 8MB of L3 cache compared to the PS3's 512KB of L2 cache on the PPU and 256KB of L2 cache per each of the 7 SPEs.
Also, Intel CPUs are CISC so their instruction sets are a lot more complex, so you'll see a gain in transistor count for that reason alone. Out of order execution with true branch pred...
Blizzard tried consoles before, and it sucked.
Also, Starcraft 2 has already outsold pretty much every console game released this year, so why exactly should they leave the PC?
I actually enjoy retro gaming a lot. Some of the guys on Youtube like TVandLust, Finngamer, Gamester81, lukemorse1, etc are pretty cool and some of them have amazing collections. Gamester81 for example has nearly 200 different systems.
You're playing it nearly 6 years late.
Looks like Half-Life 2 is ready to be ported to the Wii.
I kid, I kid!
There's also the in-game web browser and universal game invites similar to the system used on Xbox Live
This is still a pretty big improvement for online play.
I'm not a big fan of pre-ordering games, but I might have to with this title. Even though collector's editions are often really cool, I'd rather put that extra money towards another game.
I agree, as I don't want to see them wear out the franchise too quickly. I personally like it when developers alternate franchises with every new game release.
Have you played Gears of War 1 on the PC? You never need the scope with the sniper.
